The minimum age to get started is 13 years

2. Do you help provide training?
There are many towns that offer local basic training to help you get started. NHLL is working to conduct yearly state-wide clinics to help improve your rule knowledge and mechanics. We are also willing to work a game with whomever needs help. There are also opportunities to attend the regional umpire school in Bristol, CT twice a year.

NHD1 does not offer payment. However, local towns may provide payment for completing games.

4. Does the district provide equipment?
We do not provide a uniform or equipment, but you are able to use local towns plate gear. We recommend using the Gerry Davis store as Little League offers a discount if you order through them.

5. Why should I umpire?
Umpiring is a fantastic opportunity to be involved in your community and give back to the game you love! You will make so many connections with great people. There are many opportunities waiting for you.

6. How does scheduling work?
The schedule you want is the schedule you get! Only want to work once a week? No problem. Want to work everyday? Sounds great! Umpiring is completely on your time and we are flexible based on your schedule.

If you have rulebook question no problem, please contact the NHD1 UIC or Assistant UIC. We are happy to answer your question and refer you to the correct area of the rulebook.
