WHAT IS A SKILL ASSESSMENT?

The skill assessment helps to determine which team your child will be placed on. Teams are not compiled based on where you live, or what school your child attends. Teams are built based on several criteria. The goal is to not have all 7' players who have a great three-point shot on the same team. Both Little Dribbler's divisions are coed. 2nd Grade Little Dribblers is the only grade pure division. All other divisions in IYB are mixed grade (i.e. K/1; 3/4; 5/6; 7/8; 9-12.) There is no experience required to participate on any recreational basketball team. All players are welcomed regardless.

The goal of the recreational skill assessment is to balance the talent on each team by mixing skilled, intermediate, and low to no skilled players together. Efforts are also made to have a balance of height, and grade. In the Little Dribbler's coed divisions, a mix of gender is also a factor depending on enrollment.

WHAT DO WE DO ONCE WE ARRIVE AT THE SKILL ASSESSMENT?

1) IF you're pre-registered and paid, go to the height station, then to the tryout number station. Pin your child's assigned number to their shirt and head into the gym to go through the series of drills. Once complete, you're good to go.

2) IF you're pre-registered, but NOT paid, get your child measured, go to the payment station, then to the tryout number station.

3) IF you're not pre-registered at all, fill out a paper registration form first, get your child measured, proceed to payment station, then get your player a number and head into the gym.

Registering online is easy and quick!
Just follow these simple steps:

	CREATE YOUR NEW MEMBER ACCOUNT You'll be asked to create a member account if you don't already have one. Simply click the "No, I do not have a member account" option when asked to log in to the registration system. IMPORTANT - IF you have an account, but would like to change your user name - PLEASE DO NOT CREATE A NEW ACCOUNT! Call IYB administration and we can change your user account name for you. This will eliminate you having to re-enter all of your family information, and more importantly, keep all of your registration records under one profile. Personal email addresses are preferred for usernames.
	COMPLETE PARENT INFORMATION After you create your new member account, you'll need to choose "Register Now." You will be asked to fill in parent information
	COMPLETE PLAYER REGISTRATION Choose the age group for your player and then fill out the player information. You'll be asked if you want to add more players or to finish registration and pay.
	CHOOSE YOUR PAYMENT AND YOU'RE DONE! After you've filled in your parent and player(s) information, you'll see your total fees and can choose to pay by check or by debit/credit card online. You may still register online and delay your online payment by selecting the "Pay By Check" option. Prior to registration closing, you can log back into your account and pay with a credit card, or ACH check at any time. You may also register online and PAY IN PERSON at the skill assessment. Always select the "Pay by Check" option if delaying online payment or paying in person. We will accept cash, checks, money orders (made payable to Interior Youth Basketball) or credit cards on-site at the skill assessments. Note: No credit card information is EVER stored on our computers and all information is encrypted for your security.
