To Register for a team as a Head Coach or Assistant Coach you must meet the following requirements;
1. Coaching License (In person 9v9 / 11v11 level at minimum)
2. Risk Management/Background Verification (Finger Printing)
3. Safesport Trained Course Certificate
4. Concussion and Head Injury Certificate
5. Sudden Cardiac Arrest Certificate

To Register for a team as a Team Manager or Team Assistant you must meet the following requirements;

BELOW IS THE INFORMATION HOW TO OBTAIN THOSE REQUIREMENTS IF YOU DO NOT POSSES THEM.

THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS/CERTIFICATIONS ARE REQUIRED/MANDATORY TO COMPLETE THE REGISTRATION PROCESS:
These must be UPLOADED during the Registration Process

1. ADMINISTRATOR/COACH PHOTOGRAPH/PICTURE 
2. ADMINISTRATOR/COACH DRIVER LICENSE, PASSPORT OR GOVERMENT ISSUED I.D. 

2. KIDSAFE RISK MANAGEMENT/BACK GROUND CHECK 
The club/league should ensure that all applicants have an administrator profile in the Cal South Registration System BEFORE the session to avoid delays in the risk management update process.

3. SAFESPORT U.S. CENTER FOR SAFE SPORT POLICIES & PROCEDURES 
US Soccer formally adopted new Athlete and Participant safety policy on February 16, 2019. Subsequently, Cal South and Affiliate Members must ensure that all Coaches, Administrators and other Covered Individuals complete the required Center for Safe Sport training and education online. 
a. New Program Administrators must take the first course from SafeSport called SafeSport TRAINED Course 
b. Returning Program Administrators that have taken the TRAINED course must then take the Refresher course annually, which requires the login credentials created when the individual first took the TRAINED Course.

4.SUDDEN CARDIAC ARREST CERTIFICATE – No cost Free Individuals, i.e. Head Coaches and Referees, that will be obtaining a NEW Coaching License or NEW Referee Certification in U.S. Soccer’s Learning Center (LC) will meet this requirement in those courses.

5.CONCUSSION & HEAD INJURY SAFETY CERTIFICATE – No Cost Free 
HEADS UP to Youth Sports: Online Training – HEADS UP Concussion in Youth Sports is a free, online course available to coaches, parents, and others helping to keep athletes safe from concussion. 
Individuals, i.e. Head Coaches and Referees, that will be obtaining a NEW Coaching License or NEW Referee Certification in U.S. Soccer’s Learning Center (LC) will meet this requirement in those courses.

Head Coach, Assistant Coach Requirements - for those that have not coached before and/or do not have a coaching license
1. US Soccer Online Licenses (4v4, 7v7, 9v9, 11v11) 
Important Note: Grassroots online licenses is MANDATORY for all coaches

How to Register 
Step 1: Register to take any of the online licenses within the Cal South system by clicking here 
Step 2: Make sure you have created your LC account and have taken the Introduction to Grassroots Coaching Module 
Step 3: Register within the LC to take the online license course using your code.

2. US Soccer National 9v9 & 11v11 License (In-Person) 
Course Information 
The following steps are MANDATORY in order to register as a COMPETITIVE coach in Cal South. 
You must attend both 9v9 & 11v11 In-Person Courses which consist of two 4-hour courses, providing instruction in grassroots coaching and teaching methodology. 
Prerequisites: 
Minimum Age: 16 years of age 
Step One: Create a coaching profile in the US Soccer’s Learning Center (LC) 
Step Two: Complete the US Soccer Introduction To Grassroots Coaching Module – see above Online Licenses 
Step Four: Register for both 4-Hour 9v9 & 11v11 In-Person License Course (Must sign up for each separately
Course Length: 4 hours for the 9v9 and 4 hours for the 11v11 (2 hours classroom, 2 hours field) 
Cost: $130, includes both 9v9 and 11v11 Licenses

Step 2: Make sure you have created your LC account and have taken the Introduction to Grassroots Coaching Module 
Step 3: Register within the LC to take the In Person online 11v11 and 9v9 In Person Training
