Here is a sample email of what we'll typically send out prior to camp.
Good afternoon:
Thank you very much for signing up for our soccer camp
Camp starts Monday morning at 9am and will run until 12.30pm.
We will have a NIKE canopy so you should be able to see us.
Each camper should bring with them:
- A soccer ball, soccer cleats, shin guards, packed lunch (we’ll stop for lunch at about 11am), plenty of water, some sunscreen, and a sense of humor.
Please let your child know that it is important they keep their lunches packed away. If they leave food exposed then the crows will help themselves. We don’t mind campers having a quick snack during a water break but just let them know it is important to pack things up.
Each day after lunch we will have a small contest. Monday will be CRAZY SOCK DAY so send the campers along with some CRAZY COLORFUL SOCKS. We'll let the campers know what the contest will be for the next day at each lunch time.
Please see Pete or Charlie (either one should have a clipboard) in the morning when you drop your child/ren off so they will make a note that they are in attendance. At the end of each day we’d like each child to be checked out so please plan on taking a few moments to let the coach with the clipboard know that your child has been picked up safely. We appreciate that you all have busy schedules but please make sure your child/children is/are checked out in the afternoon.
We'll have some water out there in Gatorade coolers so if the kids run out they can fill up.
Over the course of the week the campers will spend time playing specific games that directly teach skills or general games that teach skills indirectly. Either way over the course of the week players will get lots of touches on the ball.
If anyone has any questions please feel free to check in with Fraser ([email protected]).
Thanks,
Fraser and Pete
