The Shepherd Youth Football Program and its Board have put together a special opportunity for our community and football student-athletes.
An endowment fund has been created through the Mount Pleasant Community Foundation to provide scholarships for Shepherd High School graduates who participate in high school football.
Criteria for the scholarship are:
**Student must graduate from Shepherd High School
**Student must have participated in high school football at Shepherd High School
**Student must have maintained a 2.5 GPA or higher
**Student must possess a positive attitude towards Shepherd Public Schools,the Shepherd Football Program, and the Shepherd Community
**Student shall planning to enroll at an accredited college, university, or trade school
Preferences for the scholarship will be given to athletes who participate in Shepherd Youth Football, received the Warrior/Iron Man award, had distinguished achievements in football, and demonstrate financial need.
Saturday October 21, 2017 Shepherd Youth Football presented an initial check to the community foundation, represented by Brittany Sherrill and Michelle Sponseller, for $10,000 to be put into the Shepherd Football Scholarship Fund. This donation, and others, will be invested and annual earnings will be used to award scholarships in perpetuity.
Shepherd Youth Football is proud to give back to the Shepherd Community and proud to support our student athletes and the game of football.
