In preparation for the spring season, BEST FC has expanded its coaching staff and is excited to welcome Taskin Guven as the new head coach of the BEST FC Girls 2003/2004 Impact NPL team.
Coach Taskin brings nearly two decades of coaching experience at the youth through collegiate levels. He previously held head coaching positions at Anna Maria College and Becker College. He will be a key part of BEST FC's coaching staff working closely with Paul Mumby, DOC, focusing on team and player development.
“We remain committed to giving our players access to the best trainers possible,” said Paul Mumby, BEST FC Director of Coaching. “Having Taskin join our full-time coaching staff will be a huge benefit to our program. He will be able to bring advanced technical training to our players on field and offer them guidance as they look ahead to potentially playing at the next level.”
During his time at Anna Maria, the AMCATS set a record for conference games won in a season and had multiple players earn GNAC All-Conference Team honors. In Coach Taskin's six seasons at Becker College, he guided the Hawks to the conference playoffs twice in his first four seasons, winning the NECC Championship in 2008 and earning an ECAC bid.
He has also worked with the Connecticut Junior Soccer Association and the Massachusetts Youth Soccer Program as an instructor.
He remains involved as an instructor with Massachusetts Youth Soccer where he has been an integral part of the program for years including as head coach of the U17 Boys Massachusetts ODP team.
Coach Taskin has earned his USSF A License, Grassroots Instructor License, NSCAA Premier Diploma and the NSCAA Director of Coaching Diploma, as well as other accolades. He is a member of the United States Soccer Federation and the United Soccer Coaches association (formerly the NSCAA).
