Dear Little League®Volunteers:
Little League®Baseball and Softball, as part of its continuing online education initiative, is offering virtual training and explanation of each of nine official playing rules found in Little League’s rulebooks.
Umpire instructors from several of Little League’s Region Centers will moderate these free-to-access presentations that are expected to be provided in 45- to 60-minute sessions. We’d encourage you to download the Little League Rulebook App (LittleLeague.org/RulebookApp) and review the materials available atLittleLeague.org/Rules, as well.

When:Sunday, February 21, at 7:30 p.m. Eastern Time What:Rule 2: Definition of Terms Overview:This session will discuss the terminology commonly used in Little League to set the parameters of a game. Included in this conversation will be how these terms are applied while explaining and adjudging different on-field situations.

When:Sunday, February 28, at 7:30 p.m. Eastern Time What:Rule 9: The Umpire Overview:This session will discuss and outline the role, authority, and responsibilities of the Little League® umpire during a game.
When:Sunday, March 7, at 7:30 p.m. Eastern Time What:Rules 1 and 5: Objectives of the Game and Putting the Ball in Play Overview:This session will discuss the various details and operational guidance specific to the different levels of Little League Baseball and Softball. Field layout and equipment inspection will be featured in this discussion; as will the proper way to put the ball in play and make it live; and extensive explanation of dead ball situations.
