Coaches Needed

A successful soccer season depends on volunteer coaches. Having enough coaches is the most important factor to allow the most kids to play, and to provide them with a quality experience.

Our annual registrations have been on the rise - totaling around 225 players in 2019, and continue to increase. We try to cap each team at 12 players, so that each player gets a good amount of playing time and has a positive experience. So we typically require about 40-50 coaches to meet the demands of our growing soccer program.

One of the biggest misunderstandings with coaching is that you have to be an expert. You don't. Game play certainly gets more demanding as players move up the age divisions, but at the younger age groups the players need coaches that make the game fun and enjoyable. That doesn't take an expert.

If you have a little time, energy, and enthusiasm to offer - please consider coaching this fall. It's truly worth it, and it's everything to sustaining this wonderful program in Wallowa County!
