NJYS SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
New Jersey Youth Soccer is honored to inform schools throughout our state of the various scholarships that are available to assist college bound candidates with the cost of higher education. We ask high schools throughout New Jersey to encourage all qualified college bound seniors to submit an application.
The following is required by the application deadline:
1. A copy of the student's official high school transcript.
2. A completed application (see below).
3. An essay of no more than two pages explaining why he or she would be a good candidate for the scholarship .
Please note the criteria below for each scholarship.
JEANINE WILLIS SCHOLARSHIP FUND
Established by New Jersey Youth Soccer to honor the numerous contributions Jeanine Willis made to youth soccer in the state of New Jersey and beyond. Jeanine was New Jersey Youth Soccer's first Executive Director and also served as a member of the Board of NJYS for a number of years. Jeanine was devoted to enriching the overall soccer experience for all New Jersey Youth Soccer players.
In honor of Jeanine Willis, New Jersey Youth Soccer will award a $1,000 scholarship to one male and one female high school senior, who plans to further their education by attending college or an accredited technical school.
When selecting the winner for the Jeanine Willis Scholarship the following key considerations will be evaluated:
1. Applicant participation with an affiliated NJYS Club.
2. Applicant participation in the NJYS State Cup Program for a minimum of two seasons.

BRETT FENSTER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Established by Dr. David Fenster and facilitated by NJ Youth Soccer as a way to help one male and one female high school senior further their education. Brett played soccer from the age of five until he graduated from High School. He began participating in the Recreation Program in West Windsor and moved on to play travel and high school soccer. Brett's love for the sport flourished along with his interest in the arts and humanities. Brett passed away in 2010 at the age of 23, at which time the scholarship was enacted.
In honor of Brett Fenster, New Jersey Youth Soccer will award a $1,000 scholarship to one male and one female high school senior, who plans to further their education by attending a 2 or 4-year college or an accredited technical school.
When selecting the winner for the Brett Fenster Memorial Scholarship the following key considerations will be evaluated:
1. Applicant participation with an affiliated NJYS Club.
2. An applicant has overcome a meaningful hurdle in his or her journey towards higher education.

ALLAN B. SINCLAIR MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Established by New Jersey Youth Soccer in April of 2012 to honor the many facets of Allan B. Sinclair's relationship with Youth Soccer. Al had an extensive career with New Jersey Youth Soccer, serving as President of New Jersey Youth Soccer for almost 25 years; and Executive Director from 2008-2012. Al's time and dedication to youth soccer was mostly done as a volunteer not only in the state but also in the region. The funds for this scholarship were donated in his memory when he passed away in April of 2012.
In honor Allan B. Sinclair, New Jersey Youth Soccer will award a $1,000 scholarship to one male and one female high school senior, who plans to further their education by attending college or an accredited technical school.
When selecting the winner for the Allan B. Sinclair Memorial Scholarship the following key considerations will be evaluated:
1. Applicant participation with an affiliated NJYS Club.
2. An applicant has demonstrated great leadership and have volunteered his or her time to their communities.
