Here are some answers to frequently asked questions.

Our season will officially begin in mid to late August with training sessions. Games will begin in early September. Between now and then, we may have optional practices for the players to help them get to know one another (and choose our team name!)

1. We generally play 8 games per season. Games can be located throughout Morris, Sussex and Warren counties. The flighting, (our group) is usually released in late August. The schedule is usually finalized the week before games begin. Games are primarily on Sundays. The website for our league is www.mcysa.org.

2. Travel soccer is a two season commitment, fall and spring. Please consider this carefully before accepting a spot on the roster. We keep our roster size small to ensure that our players get lots of play time to learn the game. This makes it important that all players commit to both seasons. We encourage kids to play multiple sports and our coaches will work with you regarding occasional conflicts with practices but attendance at games is expected.

3.. Communication is key. Our coaches spend countless hours preparing for training sessions, working on rosters and communicating with other teams and coaches. Please be sure to RSVP promptly for training sessions, makeup games, team outings etc.

4.. Our primary goal is to develop players that love the game of soccer, play with enthusiasm and creativity and develop the decision making skills and behaviors they will need to play into their future. To accomplish this, we will use a combination of small-sided games, game-like activities and more traditional skill development “drills’.

5. Parental support is the key to having a positive learning environment for the players. We ask that parents remain supportive and positive on the sidelines during games and avoid coaching your player or arguing with the referee. . Adults shouting on the sideline can be quite distracting (and even stressful) for the kids that are playing. As the saying goes: “Let the players play, the coaches coach, the officials officiate and the spectators cheer.”

Fall and Spring Registration Fee: $500(includes team fees, fall and spring tournament, trainer fees and insurance fees)

Uniform Cost: $160 (includes KSC soccer bag, home and away personalized jersey, shorts and socks)
