About & History

Soccer was established as a Fairmont Community Education & Recreation (CER) program in 1985 to provide an inclusive recreational program primarily for kids in the greater Fairmont area. We are a private non-profit group that is based on volunteers that assist on running soccer programs for Fairmont and the greater community.  We operate two soccer programs. First is in the spring to early summer where it is competitive traveling soccer. Teams are formed base on age.  Our rec soccer program is held in the late summer and typically involves almost 400 kids ages 5-10.  This program is structured to teach younger kids the basics of soccer with skill games and short scrimmages.  For kids 11 years and up, FSA sponsors a spring competitive league through the Southern Minnesota Soccer League (SMSL).   This program is open to all with in the age range defined by SMSL and or team availability.
High School soccer program is 100% ran through the Fairmont High School.

Mission Statment

Fairmont Soccer Association continually strives to provide a quality (above the standard, beyond the minimum) soccer program for all kids and adults that want to play the game in a fair, fun, and safe environment.  We seek to develop the whole person through the game of soccer.  We are affiliated with SMSL (Southern Minnesota Soccer League) a member of US Soccer and US Youth Soccer.  We provide soccer programs with volunteer time and talent and no pay for coaches, board members, program developers, or coordinators. Emphasis is placed on education and training of volunteers to grow, develop, and operate a successful youth program.
