History

- West Allegheny Little League(formerly Findlay Little League):
For the first time in 2020, Findlay Little League chartered with Little League Baseball (https://www.littleleague.org/) based out of Williamsport, PA for a 12U Baseball League.  For many years, the West Allegheny School District has produced some great baseball players and the opportunity to play in Little League Baseball sanctioned tournaments has never existed.  The ultimate goal is to play in the Little League Baseball World Series International Tournament (as seen on television in August), which is held in Williamsport, PA each year with teams competing from all over the world.

In 2022, Findlay, North Fayette and Oakdale have merged at the 12U level (only) to form the West Allegheny Little League.

West Allegheny Little League is open to all West Allegheny School District 12U Baseball players and they must meet the age and residency requirements established by Little League Baseball to participate (https://www.littleleague.org/play-little-league/determine-league-age/). 

The model implemented by the West Allegheny Little League strives to set up the most balanced competition possible throughout the season.  It is our firm belief that children need to have the opportunity to play in meaningful games in order to thrive and develop.  By having balanced competition we are ensuring that players get plenty of opportunities to play the field, pitch, and bat.  Without the ability to contribute many players unfortunately leave sports prematurely.  Our goal is to ensure these kids have the desire to continue to play baseball the next year and beyond.  

Little League Mission Statement:
Little League Baseball, Incorporated is a non-profit organization whose mission is to “promote, develop, supervise, and voluntarily assist in all lawful ways, the interest of those who will participate in Little League Baseball and Softball.”

Through proper guidance and exemplary leadership, the Little League program assists children in developing the qualities of citizenship, discipline, teamwork and physical well-being. By espousing the virtues of Character, Courage and Loyalty, the Little League Baseball and Softball program is designed to develop superior citizens rather than superior athletes.
