Organization
The Adams Police Athletic League, also known as “Adams PAL” or “PAL,” is an organized basketball league serving Adams and Cheshire, Massachusetts and the surrounding community. The PAL organization is led by the Adams Police Department, organized by a volunteer board of directors and operated by dozens of community volunteers. The PAL program serves over 250 children each year.
History
The Adams Police Athletic League was founded in 1952 as a juvenile crime prevention program. Members of the Adams Police Department and other interested adults aimed to provide an organized youth basketball program serving children from Adams and surrounding communities. Over 250 children in grades PreSchool-8 participate in league activities from November through March each year.
