FSA moving to SMSL

Fairmont Soccer Association is pleased to announce that for the 2022 spring competitive season, we will be aligned with the Southern Minnesota Soccer League. The league was created to provide greater emphasis on the needs of soccer players and families outside of the metro areas. All teams in the league play in a geographic region which has highway 15 on the west, Highway 19 as a northern border, the Mississippi river on the east, and the Iowa border along the south. While we are a team in the "far west", this geography better aligns with who we now play in our High School sections. This also takes metro area teams out of the mix. Metro teams often failed to come to games here or scheduled games at 5:00 on Tuesdays, resulting in missed work time, etc. Your Fairmont Soccer Association board believes that this change will not only be better geographically, it will also be better competitively and offer more opportunity for our younger players (U10,11,12) to play a soccer season in the fall if they choose. We are excited about this shift and believe that it will both promote growth of soccer as well as provide a better soccer experience for players and families.

Fairmont Soccer Association se complace en anunciar que para la temporada de primavera de 2022, estaremos alineados con la Southern Minnesota Soccer League. La liga se creó para brindar un mayor énfasis en las necesidades de los jugadores de fútbol y las familias fuera de las áreas metropolitanas. Todos los equipos de la liga juegan en una región geográfica que tiene al Highway 15 al oeste, el Highway 19 como frontera norte, el río Mississippi al este y la frontera de Iowa al sur. Si bien somos un equipo en el "lejano oeste", esta geografía se alinea mejor con quienes jugamos ahora en nuestras secciones de secundaria. Esto también saca de la mezcla a los equipos del área metropolitana. Los equipos de Metro a menudo no asistían a los juegos aquí o programaban juegos a las 5:00 los martes, lo que resultaba en horas de trabajo perdidas, etc.

La junta directiva de Fairmont Soccer Association cree que este cambio no solo será mejor geográficamente, sino que también será más competitivo y ofrecerá más oportunidades para que nuestros jugadores más jóvenes (U10,11,12) jueguen una temporada de fútbol en el otoño si así lo desean. Estamos entusiasmados con este cambio y creemos que promoverá el crecimiento del fútbol y brindará una mejor experiencia de fútbol para los jugadores y sus familias.
