Friendswood Storm vs the world! End of Season Tourney

The Friendswood Storm 14U team did not field a team for the EOY Tourney.

The Friendswood Storm 12U team created enough excitement for several team, a tournament for the ages. Winning their bracket and finding themselves in the semifinals against the Woodlands, a team they won by 1 point in the regular season. A back and forth battle had the game tied with two and half minutes left found the Woodlands scoring to go up by one with a minute left. Winning the the face off and quickly scoring the Friendswood Storm tied the game with 40 seconds left. The "Belichick" HC of the Friendswood Storm coach, knowing there was no time outs permitted and the clock never stops along with the knowledge is the tie breaker is the regular season head to head record calls a timeout. Officials stop the game for the time out, Woodlands coaches rightfully state there are no timeouts and by the time they figure it out time expires. Now to the tie breaker rules, the Woodland coaches, knowing they lost in the regular season, argue the rules are not clear in stating it is meant for head to head in the regular season and ask for it to be thrown out. Officials agree and the second tie breaker is goal differential which the Woodlands exited the field in celebration. Meanwhile, Coach Irene points out several flaws in the stat keeping and countered the reasoning for "skipping" the first tie breaker. Officials decide the only way to solve this is to have a sudden death period with the winner going to the finals. Winning the Draw, Jolee Simpson drives the field and scores winning the game in dramatic fashion placing the Friendswood Storm in the finals against the Dragons.

An anticipated rematch in a hot a humid day. the Dragons looked fresh the whole game with multiple lines ran the Friendswood Storm team down. A lacrosse lovers dream watching these two head coaches counter each others subs and formations was as exciting as the play on the field. Tied in the middle of the second have the Dragons send a shot off the pipe of the goal and play continued for 30-40 seconds while the main ref left the play to confer with the other ref. Confirming it was no goal the main ref walks over to the goal and notates it is behind the goal line and awards the Dragons a goal. With the running and down by one, the Friendswood Storm move on and soon ricochets a shot off the pipe and asks for a review of the goal position too. No such luck and in the confusion the Dragons score and uncontested goal to go up two. A deflated and winded Friendswood Storm team fight hard to finish the championship game falling to the Dragons.

The Friendswood Storm 12U wrap up the season in second place in the regular season and in the tournament to the Dragons.
