CODE OF CONDUCT

Players, Coaches, Parents and/or Guardians of Eastern Hancock Youth Softball (EHYS) are to conduct themselves in a manner consistent with creating a positive and fun experience for all participants.

As a parent and/or guardian of a child registered with EHYS, you are responsible for the conduct of yourself, player(s), family members, and guests. EHYS will not tolerate yelling at, or belittling of a coach, player, umpire, parent, or attendee.  All violations of this code of conduct will result in a warning.  A second offense will result in an immediate ejection and a suspension from the next scheduled game.  If the offender does not comply within five minutes, the offending team will forfeit the game. 

Any intentional physical contact by a player, coach, parent, or attendee will result in an immediate ejection and suspension from attending EHYS events for the remainder of the season, including practices and games.

As an adult and role model, children are influenced by all words and actions.  I agree to the following and will abide by this Code of Conduct:

• I will remember that all players participate to have fun and that games are for the players, not the adults.  I will do my best to make youth sports fun.
•         I agree to cheer, let the coaches coach, let the players play, and the umpires ump.
•         I will promote good sportsmanship by respecting the coaches, players, umpires, parents, and attendees; which includes not arguing, booing, taunting, or using profane language or gestures.
•         I will not ridicule or yell at my player(s) or any other player for making a mistake.
•         I will respect and support the coaches’ and umpires’ authority during games; including not arguing with, nor confronting coaches or umpires.
•         I will not approach coaches, players, or umpires before, during, or immediately after games with anything other than support.  All questions and concerns regarding coaches, players, or umpires will be addressed after the game in an atmosphere conducive to problem solving.
•         I agree to make an effort to keep all locations and the fields we use clean.

As a player, I agree to the following and will abide by this Code of Conduct:

• I will promote good sportsmanship by respecting the coaches, players, umpires, parents, and attendees; which includes not arguing, booing, taunting, or using profane language or gestures.
•         I will not ridicule or yell at my teammates or any other player for making a mistake.
•         I will respect and support the coaches’ and umpires’ authority during games; including not arguing with, nor confronting coaches or umpires.
•         I agree to make an effort to keep all locations and the fields we use clean.
