Head Coach Jack Hughes

After a 25-year absence from the game, Jack Hughes started the Forsyth Co. Flyers 9th Grade boys’ basketball team in 2018. That first year, the team played a 10-tournament schedule in the YBOA.

Jack left the profession of coaching basketball to pursue a different path, eventually opening his own business (Shop Teks Equipment Specialists, Inc) in the year 2000, and is currently the CEO of 20-year-old Shop Teks.

Prior to his pursuit of a different career path, Jack was the Head Varsity Boys’ Basketball Coach at Echols Co. High School and Rabun Co. High School. Jack was also a Grad Assistant at GA College, where he also played basketball. Jack also played high school basketball at GMC Prep School in Milledgeville, GA.

“Basketball has played a big role in my life and through lessons learned from the game, and the interaction with some great people, coaches, and mentors along the way, it has shaped who I am today.”

Hard work, dedication, skill development, and overall performance-level improvement are our goals for the Flyers. Improved player confidence in self and others, benefit all players whether it be basketball or the game of Life.

This year, 2019, the Flyers expanded to two teams: 9th and 10th grades, with plans for 2020 having 4 teams: 7th thru 10th!
