Please help keep Doris Buffett’s dream of making summer baseball accessible to all area kids alive—especially those whose families can’t afford to pay thousands of dollars to be on travel teams.

Doris helped build beautiful Sunshine Ballpark in a Fredericksburg neighborhood to give kids a safe place to go have fun and receive mentoring from coaches who are positive role models. 

They learn the game while they learn life lessons. 

"I love to see kids learning to do team things," Ms. Buffett says. "The whole idea is to keep them busy, happy and learning something. They won't be as likely to fall prey to bad characters."

The league is open to all area boys and girls age 5-18 in various age divisions, with scholarships for families with financial need. 

Doris, who passed away in 2020, had said she hopes others in the Fredericksburg area will step up to the plate and help keep what she started going. 

Since the league started in 2015, we've helped over 1,300 children play summer baseball! 

We instill pride by giving the kids nice uniforms, a beautiful field to play on and having P.A. announcers boon their names when they come up to bat.
