Philosophy of coaching:

As a coach/teacher I believe it is important to establish an environment that allows all players to grow in a way that is advantageous to the player and the team. If the coaches, players, and parents are all aware of the goals of the team then a successful team can be established. I also believe that If my teams play together, play hard, and have fun then their maximum potential will be reached.

Greatest moments:

As a player: Being on the 1987 state finalists grand blanc high school soccer team

As a high school coach: Winning the 2006 district championship game at Davison high school

As a travel coach: Watching my 08 boys team advance themselves through the travel soccer system and qualify for the directors academy.

Best part of coaching:

The best parts of coaching are watching players work hard and achieve a level of success that they never thought was possible. I also truly enjoy watching the bonds and friendships that are formed that may last throughout their lifetimes. At the end of the day the friendships, memories, and experiences will be things that outlast any wins and losses.

Our Staff_Tom Childs

Tom Childs-Head Coach

Coaching 5 years.

My Philosophy:   I implore the philosophy that we must work to our fullest potential at all times on the field to never cheat the game.  One must learn how to lose in order to understand the values of winning.  To play the game the correct way.  To respect one another and laugh.

My greatest moments are when I see the hard work pay off.  When the players are linking up with a great pass and using their minds to build the play.

The best part of coaching for me is the team.
