To register for any NTF program, first, you will need to set up an Account on this site. Click on the "Register" tab at upper right to Create New Account. If you already have a Sports Connect (former Blue Sombrero) Account from other sport leagues or prior seasons with NTF, you can reuse that! Once you have created an account, add each child wishing to join, as a Participant. Do not stop here - now you need to sign up for a specific program!

Once you have each Participant child added to your account, you will then be able to use the Registration tab to sign up for the ongoing program. Under 'Available Programs', please choose the program you are signing up for and the age division for your participant based on the year of birth. There should be only one option per athlete, the age division for which he/she is eligible. The two-year age divisions for NTF are the same as defined by USA Track & Field. They are determined by the year(s) in which your child has a birthday, not necessarily what age they are at the moment. Don't get hung up on this, it all works out.

Once you click on the age division, you will see the form to enter your athlete's information. Make sure to fill all required fields. It is important to have accurate contact information in case of late pickups, inclement weather, and other emergency announcements. Also make sure that the date of birth is correct, so that your athletes is properly placed in the roster.

NOTE THAT PRICES ARE FOR "REGULAR SEASON"; SIBLING DISCOUNTS WILL BE APPLIED AT CHECKOUT. A $25 LATE FEE MAY BE ADDED AT A DATE DETERMINED PER SEASON

USATF REGISTRATION:

For insurance purposes, we require all participants to have an active membership in the United States of America Track and Field Association (USATF). USATF transitioned in 2020 to a new system, and it appears that everyone's "old" account wasn't automatically moved over. So there are a few scenarios:

If you have never registered with USATF, start here: https://www.usatf.org/home/top-utility-nav-content/membership
and click on "Join". It is $26 per year per athlete (+ tax, so about $30). Also remember to affiliate your athlete with NTF (club #147), and then finally to write down your USATF membership number and assign it to your athlete in NTFXC! Those instructions are below

If you registered previously (but don't have an account on the new site), AND you know your old USATF #, you can 'recover' it here:

If you registered previously, don't have a new account, and don't know your USATF number, go here: https://legacy.usatf.org/membership/help/number.asp then go to the above to 'recover' your account and create a new one in the new system.

ADDING YOUR USATF NUMBER:

After getting a USATF registration number for each athlete, where do you enter it? Pretty much in the same place you originally registered for this season with NTF. Go to your account in BlueSombrero/SportsConnect and under each athlete, you can edit his or her info (the questions you answered when you signed up):

Enter the USATF#, click SAVE, and you're done!

TRYOUTS: All athletes must be fully registered to attend practice and meets. We do not allow anonymous "tryouts" for a few days or weeks due to liability concerns; having full contact information is critical for the safety of our athletes and coaches. The program has enrolled thousands of wonderful young athletes over the decades, stick with it for a while and if there are lingering concerns, see below.

DROPPING A REGISTRATION/REFUNDS: Under only very specific situations (e.g., season-ending injury, insurmountable social or developmental issues, family moving out of the area) will NTFXC issue refunds for athletes who cannot attend more than half a season. Refunds will not be granted for forgotten vacations, conflicts with other sports, disinterest, or other convenience-related reasons. If you wish to have a discussion about a refund or any other matter regarding your athlete, contact Secretary Steve ([email protected]) or Coach Mark ([email protected]) directly. Assistant coaches do not have the authority to adjudicate registration-related matters, please speak with Steve or Mark.
