A. Program available to all youth ages 5 - 9 years old who want to play soccer and improve
their skills while having fun.
B. Player development curriculum incorporates US Soccer Best Practices including an emphasis
on small sided play.
C. Professional trainers utilized for training.
D. Individual ball skills, creativity and fun emphasized over winning.
E. Play takes place on small fields using small numbers of players to ensure extensive touches
on the ball.
F. Simple rules utilized in games at young ages to improve flow, maximize playing time and increase player enjoyment.
G. Each season is 8 weeks in length. This includes:
U6 & U7- one day regular training (1 1/2 hours), one game day (1 1/2 hours) and one day
optional training (1 hour) per week.
U8 & U9 - two days of regular training (3 hours), one game day (1 1/2 hours (unless traveling)
and one hour of optional ball skills training. In addition, one hour of goal keeper training per
week is available for older players.
H. Game formats may vary including “round robins,”...no standings.
I. Optional “travel” competition against other communities arranged for older players.
J. “Traveling” is optional but definitely encouraged. Decision can be made for each opportunity.
K. Players aligned by ability versus age for training and development.
L. “Team” and group rosters not permanent…players moved to meet development needs of the
player and group.
M. “Tournament” teams formed at discretion of Director of Coaching.
N. Long term development goal of the program is for players to develop confidence on the ball and
to play effectively in small groups.
O. Players issued complete uniform, practice T shirt and ball each year.
P. Celebration picnic held and participation awards given at end of spring season..
