Kim Baird, MPA- Executive Director
Kim Baird is the parent of three boys who have a strong passion for the beautiful game of soccer. She has been team manager for her two older boys teams for many years. Her oldest son is graduating from high school this spring and will play soccer at Fort Lewis College starting in the fall.
She has served on many boards throughout her career including serving as State Council Director for the Colorado State Council of the Society of Human Resource Management, and President of the Human Resource Management Association of New Mexico. She currently serves on the Manzano Day School Board of Trustees, Development and Marketing Committee, as well as serving on the Long Range Planning Committee for the school. Also, she is on the Bosque School Development Committee.
Kim received her BA in English and political science from the University of New Mexico, a MA in public administration from UNM, and completed 72 hours of graduate work towards her PhD in organization learning and instructional technology, also from UNM. She has a rich background in human resources and business with over 15 years of senior level HR work across a variety of companies and industries including high tech, government contracting, retail, automotive, financial services, legal and healthcare. Kim is the Operations Director for Vernon's Speakeasy, and she and her husband Michael are partners with Steve Chavez in WisePies Pizza & Salad.
Jeremy Logan, MD- President
Jeremy Logan, MD, is from Phoenix, AZ. He attended the University of Arizona for his undergraduate studies, Creighton University in Nebraska for medical school, and the University of New Mexico for his Diagnostic Radiology residency and fellowship in Musculoskeletal Radiology. Following his fellowship, Jeremy moved his wife and three children to Virginia where he served as a Lieutenant Commander and Staff Radiologist in the Navy. While in Virginia, Jeremy enjoyed kayak fishing, working with Navy Seals, and watching his children fall in love with the most beautiful game of soccer. After 4 active-duty years in the Navy, Jeremy moved his family back to Albuquerque in July 2013 to settle down and take a position at Radiology Associates of Albuquerque. He met Kit and Jorge Vela in the fall of 2013 and the Velas have been coaching Jeremy’s children ever since. Jeremy is excited about joining the Pateadores and this tremendous opportunity to enhance soccer development and passion for the game in his children and other youth players in New Mexico.
Marisa Gay- Vice President
Marisa Gay is the Communications and Marketing Director for Bosque School and has an extensive background in media, communications, marketing, public relations, and fundraising. Marisa has been involved in New Mexico soccer since 1989 as a youth coach, board member, team manager, and tournament director in various Albuquerque clubs. She has also served on the boards of Albuquerque organizations including the New Mexico Association of Fundraising Professionals and the New Mexico Advertising Federation. In her spare time, she continues to play recreational soccer through Albuquerque Soccer League, read and travel. Marisa has two sons, currently in college, who grew up playing soccer in New Mexico. She holds a B.A. in Advertising with a minor in Marketing from Texas Tech University.
Davine Sanchez- Registrar
Davine Sanchez earned a BA in Marketing and Operations Management from the University of New Mexico. She is a mom of four very active children. Her 14 year old son has a passion and dedication for the game of soccer which has led her to develop the same enthusiasm. She wants to see the game of soccer offered to all children who have a love of the game. It is very important to her that all children receive academy level training regardless of athletic ability or financial means.
Stan Dixon- Treasurer
Stan Dixon has participated in football, basketball and baseball at Manzano High School. Have been a high school basketball official (member of the ABOA) for the past 7 years. Attended NMSU and received BS in Electrical Engineering in 1993. He has lived in Albuquerque since 2005 working for Intel Corp as a Manufacturing Supervisor, Eclipse Aviation as a Manufacturing Engineer, Swagelok Southwest as Operations Manager and Clariant Corp as a Design and Applications Engineer. He has a 14 year old daughter, Emily, who has played soccer for 7 years with NM Clash, AUFC and Duke City Stars. His son Alex has played for 6 years with NM Rush and Rio Rapids. He has served as team Treasurer for the past 3 years.
Rick Siegel- Member at Large
Rick and his wife own a small Audio Visual Integration company, Advanced Presentation Systems, and have been in the Albuquerque area for over 50 years. He is a graduate from University of New Mexico Anderson School of business. Rick has been a University of New Mexico supporter in many ways and he generously supports many other nonprofits both in New Mexico and other parts of the world. His company has also supported NM through ownerships of various programs that have been run by the tourism department of the state.
Chandler Spears- Member at Large
Chandler Spears has been a portfolio manager for Davis Selected Advisors since 2000. Before joining Davis he was a member of the corporate finance group at a Washington, DC-based developer of apartment communities and prior to that Director of Research at SNL, a research and publishing firm in Charlottesville, VA. Mr. Spears has a BBA in accounting from James Madison University and a MS in finance from the University of Virginia. Mr. Spears is a non-practicing CPA, a member of NAREIT, and sits on the Investment Management Committee of the Anderson School of Management at the University of New Mexico. As a cancer survivor, Mr. Spears has been actively involved in philanthropic efforts on behalf of the Lymphoma and Leukemia Society for the past five years. Mr. Spears has always been engaged in athletics. He was an accomplished high school soccer player and was able to play Division I-AA soccer. While his motivation far exceeded his ability in soccer, he was dismissed from the team before his second year. This gave him the opportunity to begin racing bicycles, a pursuit in which he was far more successful. After a very successful amateur career which saw him compete for a spot on the US Olympic team in 1992, Mr. Spears pursued a professional cycling career from 1993 to 1996. While he no longer competes, he still finds time to ride almost every day. Today Mr. Spears can most often be found pitch-side along with his wife of 21 years cheering for his two boys. Both of whom will surely surpass their father in every respect.
Amber Logan – Member at Large
Amber Logan was born and raised in Phoenix, AZ. She attended the University of Arizona where she received her BS in Biochemistry and BA in English Literature. After graduating, she worked as an editor for a plant molecular biology journal and eMedicine.com before becoming a full-time mom to her three children who now occupy all of her time. Amber has watched her children become passionate about soccer as they have grown and she has seen what great coaching can do to develop a child's soccer skill and character. Amber looks forward to working with Pateadores NM to bring more soccer opportunities to the children in this state.
