Developmental Soccer

What is our Developmental Soccer Program?

The Developmental Program is designed for beginners to learn the sport of soccer and for youths interested in playing in a less competitive environment. The goal of the program is to improve the quality of soccer being played in and to provide opportunities for more children to participate in the sport. The Developmental Program is the starting place for any young soccer player. It is open to boys and girls, ages 4 and up.

The Developmental Program is focused on creating an atmosphere of FUN, LEARNING, and COMMUNITY.  Our goal is for each child to be introduced to the game in a positive manner which will hopefully lead them to fall in love with the game of soccer. Each and every initiative targeted at the Players and Coaches in our Developmental Program is designed to enhance this goal and the player’s individual experience. We also strive to foster a sense of community around the game of soccer. Families and a family atmosphere are integral to our club.  PSA's Developmental Program brings together families from diverse backgrounds to celebrate youth, health, exercise, and our community.

The Developmental Program is offered to all children ages 4 and up.

NO previous playing experience required, NO requirement of advanced skills.

Each team requires a volunteer coach.

The Spring 2024 Season will begin in February and typically runs through the middle of May, weather dependent.

The age control date for Spring 2024 is 1/1/24 (your child's age as of 1/1/24).

Socks are put on after the shin guard and must fully cover the shin guards.

No Jewelry including ear rings, hair beads, or items hanging from the players for personal adornment.

Absolutely no headphones or AirPods.

Under 6 - 4v4

Our program is structured and designed specifically for the young player. The philosophy of our program can be summed up in one word- FUN! We have created a safe and positive environment where kids can learn the game of soccer through playful training techniques and team bonding activities. Working with Georgia Soccer and US Youth Soccer we have designed a program that encompasses the use of "small-sided games" and age-appropriate training. The combination of these methods will be the foundation to good habits with the ball, leading to mastery of skills.

The U6 game is designed to maximize the amount of play and "touches" each child gets. Players are encouraged to dribble the ball and not necessarily to pass it. All fouls result in Indirect Kicks. It's a teaching game and, as much, everyone wins.

Fees - $130 per season (includes your uniform cost)
Ball Size - #3
Schedule - Practice is held 1 to 2 times per week (practice times may vary depending on coach availability and weather).

Under 8 - 5v5

The U8 game differs from the U6 game in several significant ways. First, referees control the games and coaches stay off the field. Second, this is when both positional play and passing are first introduced. Players get a second chance on throw-ins. All fouls result in indirect kicks (NO Penalty Kicks)

Fees - $145 per season (includes your uniform cost)
Ball Size - #3
Schedule - Practice is held 1 to 2 times per week (practice times may vary depending on coach availability and weather).
