After allowing previously approved bats during our 2018 season spring and fall seasons, the AAA board of directors has assessed the broader adoption of the USA Baseball bat standard by other baseball associations in the area and has made the decision that only USA Baseball approved bats will be allowed beginning in 2019 for the Tee Ball, Instructional League, Minor League, and Little League divisions. Bats manufactured prior to 2018 that were previously approved for Little League play are no longer allowed.

This decision was primarily based on the following:  1) Bats approved prior to 2018 are no longer being manufactured and general availability of those bats is becoming limited. 2) Many baseball associations in the area have adopted the USA Baseball bat standard and require USA Baseball bats to be used in their tournaments and leagues. This was evident as we found that USA Baseball bats were required in the majority of the tournaments played this year.

Please keep this new requirement in mind if you are planning to buy a new bat for the upcoming holiday or in preparation for the 2019 spring season. When purchasing a new bat you should look for the USA Baseball logo stamped on the bat:
