2023 Spring Sunday League Baseball Registration is Open!

Registration for Avonworth Athletic Association's 2023 Spring Sunday League baseball season is open from Saturday, October 15 through Sunday, October 30 at: www.avonworthbaseball.com

The intent of the Spring Sunday Travel League is to provide a travel baseball opportunity similar to the Summer Tournament Travel Season with a more competitive level of baseball for players to improve their skills while facing comparable and competitive teams. The Spring Sunday League runs concurrently with the regular Spring In-House season with travel games played on Sundays to not conflict with the in-house schedule.

Sunday League travel teams will range in age from 8U thru 12U. Depending on the number of registrants, we may field multiple teams for each age group. Teams will be selected based on past season performance and roster spots are not guaranteed for this travel baseball opportunity. Please note that anyone who registers for the Sunday League is also required to participate in the Spring in-house season (the registration period for Spring in-house will begin in early January 2023).

Please note: The first opportunity for a dedicated 7U travel baseball team starts during our 2023 Summer Tournament season following the Spring in-house season. A dedicated 7U team is not offered during the Spring Sunday League season. Registration for Spring Sunday League is open to players aged 7 (as of April 30, 2023), but they will only be eligible for selection to an 8U Sunday League "B" team if registration numbers allow for more than one team at the 8U level. The 8U Sunday League "A" team will be open to players aged 8 (as of April 30, 2023) only.

The Sunday League season will include 6 - 8 indoor practices to be held at Pure Athletex in Wexford from early February to mid-March.

Players selected to a Sunday League team will be notified by mid-November. If selected to a team, you will be required to log back into the website, accept your position on the team, and pay the registration fee within 48 hours of being notified of selection.

The registration fee for the Spring Sunday League will be finalized once the total number of players and teams is confirmed and will cover: 1) league and umpire fees, 2) indoor training sessions at Pure Athletex, 3) uniform and hat (that can be reused for the Summer Tournament season). The registration fee is expected to be in the range of $170-200 per player.

If you would like to be considered as a Head Coach or Assistant Coach for a Sunday League team, please be sure to indicate as such in the ‘Volunteer’ section during registration. To be considered, all coaching candidates MUST have their background checks and security clearances on file with the Avonworth Athletic Association by October 30th. Notifications on who made and did not make Sunday League teams will go out to all families by late November.

Due to timing restrictions, no late registrations will be accepted…so please be sure to register by October 30th to ensure consideration for your child.
