PLAYER EVALUATION PROCESS  AND TEAM FORMATION

Thank you for your interest in our travel teams tryouts. Below we are providing details about the player evaluation process for the Fall 2024 / Spring 2025 travel tryouts with Mount Laurel United Soccer. The emphasis is on making the evaluation and formation process as stress-free as possible for youth players.

We are sharing the dates and times of the tryouts as currently set. We will share the locations after you register and before the tryout.

How:    Arrive before the schedule start time of the tryout, to ensure you are at the correct location,
                and allow your player to acclimate to the surroundings, field and people to be ready to begin.
                 Your child MUST  wear shin guards.
                 Bring along a water bottle and dress appropriately for the weather conditions.
                 Please re- check the schedule the day of the tryout as there maybe unexpected changes in location.

Who is eligible to try-out for a team?

MLU tryouts are open to all area youth.  If your player does not currently play for an MLU travel team we require a copy of your players birth certificate, or passport to be uploaded at the time of registration, or presented at tryout check in. We must verify all player birth years before your player can be placed on a team.

How far do we "TRAVEL?"

• Check the age group definition chart for your players age group for fall 2022/ spring 2023 seasonal year. 
• Check the schedule for your players age group for date and time of tryout. Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to tryout time, leaving time to check in.
• Scan and upload your players birth certificate at the time of online registration if your player is a new MLU travel team player.  We do not need proof of birth from current MLU travel players.

  The Cost of Spring Travel Soccer

• Well, lets get down to it. How much does it cost to play travel soccer? The figures below are estimates, as each team may vary, based on training costs and tournament costs..

• The association fees for 2023 Spring High School Age Travel Soccer are $350. This is for teams playing Spring League only.  Travel Soccer is a commitment to the team for the spring season only. Upon accepting a position on a team you may choose one of the payment plans below.  Payment plans are for those registering prior to February 1. Your Stack Sports account address should match the billing address of the credit card you are submitting. The payment plan has a $175 commitment fee and it is not refundable. There is a service fee from Stack Sports for each transaction in the amount of $2.80. We encourage you to pay for all players at one time when possible.
  
• Single Payment Plan-The fees are payable in their entirety for the spring season at the time you accept a position on a team. $175 of the fee is a commitment fee and is not refundable.
  
• Two Payment Plan-The two payment  plan requires a $175 payment due upon accepting a position on a team and the second payment of  $175 is due by February 1st. The  installment after the first will automatically be charged to the user's card on the due date. The user will receive a payment reminder email 7 days prior to the due dates set. If you are registering after February 1 the entire fee is due at the time of registration 
  
• Volunteer Discounts are applied to the final payment of the plan.
• Team Training costs- We included training sessions with your association fee. Many teams choose at least 5 more and some more. On average the cost to a single player for addition training will be approximately $30.
• Team Tournaments-  Your team may choose to play in one, two or more tournaments per season. Most often one or two. Each tournament would cost about $40 per player.
• Uniforms are approximately $100 dollars and most often are used for two years.
• There are volunteering and scholarship opportunities for players that qualify that may help reduce the cost. Scholarships may be offered to cover up to half of the annual fee and based on financial need. Apply here.
  
• The club registration fees for spring only high school age players is $350. The additional costs for high school age teams vary depending on the which team the player is a member of. We have teams that do tournaments only, and participate in various leagues, national, regional and state cup competition.
