Towsontowne Soccer - General Information

Program Administration

The Towsontowne Recreation Program is coordinated exclusively by volunteers. Coaches in the program are also volunteers. The soccer program coordinates its activities with the Towsontowne Recreation Council Volunteer Board. The Recreation Council provides facilities and the services of its Community Coordinator who oversees the activities of certain field leaders who prepare the fields for play.

Volunteers coordinate the activities of the each age group. Age group coordinators are responsible for recruiting volunteer coaches, constituting rosters, scheduling games, and coordinating referees. Age group coordinators also work with the coaches to arrange for the distribution of uniforms at the commencement of the season and the distribution of trophies at the close of the season. Volunteers are always needed. Please contact the program director, John Ward, if you are interested in assisting.

General Program Information

General Information - Youth Soccer

Thank you for your interest in the Towsontowne Youth Soccer Program.  Towsontowne Soccer is a volunteer organization that coordinates participation by approximately 900 youth in recreational and travel soccer play, primarily in the fall season.  Players between the ages of 4-15 participate in practice and game sessions starting in mid-August and running through mid-November.

The program offers indoor play during the winter as part of a cooperative endeavor among eight area recreation councils.  Indoor play takes place from January 2 through the end of March.  Play takes place at the Northeast Regional Recreation Center, 7501 Oakleigh Road, Baltimore, Maryland 21234.  The NERRC indoor soccer league offers play for players aged 6 through 18.

Towsontowne Soccer seeks to establish and maintain a play environment where players find joy through participation in sport, where practices and games are fun, and where player effort and development is valued, acknowledged and encouraged.

An exclusively volunteer organization, Towsontowne Soccer encourages volunteer participation and welcomes those willing to volunteer time as coaches, as coordinators and in other capacities.  If you are able to commit time to the program, please email the the Program Director, John Ward - [email protected].
