Philosophy

The Clay Hendrix Offensive and Defensive Line Camp at Furman University (for Rising 7th - Rising 12th grades) strives to provide intensive instruction for football players wishing to improve their overall skill level. We will focus on the fundamentals of the game of football with high repetition drill work and teaching from highly qualified coaches. Camp sessions will focus on footwork, technique, speed, and overall football knowledge through extensive practices that will include, but are not limited to, one-on-one instruction, fundamental stations, position drills, and competition. We will strive to match campers from the same school in the same group, allowing three days to build continuity between teammates. Our goal is for each participant to leave camp with a more solid foundation in the fundamentals of the game of football that will serve his team well throughout the football season.

Areas of Focus

Camp Sessions will focus on...

Stance (4,3) : Footwork : Takeoff : Individual Blocks (base, reach, down, cut-off, etc.) : Pass Blocking (drop back, play-action) : Speed, Agility, and Quickness : Film Study of Individual Technique : Group Work (Whole line schemes, huddle unity, Alignment, Team work)
