Little League Baseball
Must have the USA Baseball (USABat) stamp for most divisions (Tee Ball through Majors).
Max barrel size: 2 ⅝ inches
Length limits:
BBCOR bats allowed only in Intermediate/Junior; required in Senior League
Old USSSA/BPF 1.15 bats are NOT allowed
Quick takeaway:
If it’s youth baseball in Little League, look for the USA Bat logo (unless you’re in older divisions using BBCOR).
Little League Softball
Uses a different standard than baseball (no USA Bat requirement)
Must have BPF 1.20 stamp on non-wood bats
Max barrel size: 2 ¼ inches
Length limits:
Quick takeaway:
Softball bats are simpler. Just check for BPF 1.20 and the correct size.
Common Rules (Both)
Bat must be unmodified and not damaged (no cracks, dents, sharp edges)
Must have a proper grip (at least ~10 inches)
No pine tar or illegal substances
No bat donuts during play
Baseball = USA Bat logo (or BBCOR for older kids)
Softball = BPF 1.20 stamp
Check size + condition = good to go
