2026-2027 Town Select League (TSL)

Town Select League of Massachusetts Youth Soccer

The Town Select League (TSL) of Massachusetts Youth Soccer partners with local town programs to provide a competitive soccer experience centered on player development, enjoyment of the game, and instruction from licensed coaches. Teams are formed from four to eight neighboring towns, allowing for a select level of competition with limited travel to and from training locations. All coaches are employees who uphold the mission and values of the Massachusetts Youth Soccer Association.

TSL is offered to boys and girls born between 2012 and 2018 who reside in or near the Essex, BAYS, Middlesex, MAYS, Nashoba Valley (NVYSL), and our newest territory in 2026 ROOTS League of Western Massachusetts. The tryout location selected does not determine team placement. Players who are selected will be rostered with the team closest to their home. Tryout sites are chosen as centralized locations for each region.

In the ROOTS territory, tryouts will be offered for U9–U11 boys and girls teams during the program’s first year but our other regions offer competition for players up to 14U.

Once registered, your child will appear on tryout lists at all locations.

Player Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for a TSL roster, players must : participate on their town soccer team, attend at least one tryout, and NOT be rostered on a club team. Upon accepting a roster spot, players and families commit to both the fall and spring seasons. Roster spots are limited, and not all players who tryout are selected.

Age Group Placement

TSL teams will be moving to School Age Grouping for 2026-2027.

U9: 8/1/2017 – 7/31/2018 4 v 4 + GK

U10: 8/1/2016 – 7/31/2017 7 v 7

U11: 8/1/2015 – 7/31/2016 9 v 9

U12: 8/1/2014 – 7/31/2015 9 v 9

U13 : 8/1/2013 – 7/31/2014 11 v 11

U14: 8/1/2012 – 7/31/2013 11 v 11

** U13’s and U14’s play together in one division in our league**
