Introduction

Welcome to Wallenpaupack Youth Soccer! We’re excited to have your family as part of our community.

Our program is built around creating a positive, supportive environment where players can develop skills, build confidence, and enjoy the game of soccer. Whether your child is brand new to the sport or returning for another season, our goal is to provide a fun and rewarding experience for everyone involved.


Getting Started

We want to make the start of the season as smooth as possible for all families.

After registration, you can expect to hear from your child’s coach with details about practice schedules, team communication, and season expectations. Practices typically begin before the first scheduled games.

Helpful Tips:

  • Arrive 10–15 minutes early to practices and games

  • Make sure your player has all required equipment

  • Encourage your child to listen, learn, and have fun

First Practice/Game Checklist:

  • Soccer cleats

  • Shin guards (required)

  • Soccer socks

  • Water bottle

  • Soccer ball (if requested by coach)


Equipment Guide

Having the right equipment helps keep players safe and comfortable on the field.

Required Equipment:

  • Soccer cleats

  • Shin guards (must be worn at all practices and games)

  • Soccer socks (to cover shin guards)

Recommended Items:

  • Water bottle

  • Soccer ball (size may vary by age group)

  • Weather-appropriate gear (sweatshirts, gloves, etc.)

Additional Notes:

  • Please label all items with your child’s name

  • Remove all jewelry before practices and games for safety


Season Expectations

Creating a positive experience for all players starts with clear expectations.

For Players:

  • Show respect to coaches, teammates, and referees

  • Attend practices and games when possible

  • Listen, learn, and always give your best effort

For Parents & Guardians:

  • Encourage all players in a positive manner

  • Respect coaches, referees, and other families

  • Avoid coaching from the sidelines

  • Help create a fun, supportive, and pressure-free environment

Our focus is on player development, teamwork, and enjoyment of the game.


Get Involved

Wallenpaupack Youth Soccer relies on the support of our families to create a great experience for all players.

When registering your player, you’ll have the option to volunteer in a variety of roles, including coaching, team support, game day setup, and concessions.

No experience is needed—just a willingness to help. Even a small amount of time makes a big difference.

FAQs

What happens if there is bad weather?
Games and practices may be canceled or rescheduled due to weather. Updates will be communicated as soon as possible.

What if my child cannot attend a game or practice?
Please notify your coach in advance whenever possible.

Can parents stay and watch practices?
Yes, parents are welcome to stay. We ask that you remain off the field unless invited by the coach.

How are teams formed?
Teams are created to be as balanced as possible to ensure a positive experience for all players.
