Players must be 6 years old or older as of 04/30 of current year for any level.

Depending on the number of players, levels may be combined. This is typically the case for 14U and 15U but may impact other levels.

Players considering trying out for a Select program following the spring season should consider playing up a level to evaluate their preparedness. Tryouts begin as early as mid-June.

Players participating in an OHSAA sanctioned baseball program (junior high or high school), are not eligible to participate until they have been released by their OHSAA program. This is often not until the second week of May or later. Players trying out for their OHSAA programs (junior high or senior high school) should register for Classes A Senior / A2 or AA even if they will not know if they made their team until late February. This also must be noted in the comments which program and level they are trying out for (e.g. Lakota West HS Freshmen Baseball Candidate) during registration as this may impact team placement of the player or the team’s schedule. 14U - 15U players who arenottrying out for an OHSAA program should register for "A1 / 14U" (even if they are 15U) and put in comments "Not trying out for OHSAA program".

What is the oldest player allowed in the program: Please see the chart above for each level. As an example for the Spring, the D Junior level is a 08U program with the age determination date as April 30 of the current year. This means that a player that is 8 years old or younger as of April 30 is eligible. A player 9 years old or older as of April 30 is not eligible.

What is the youngest player allowed in the program: Players must be at least 6 years old on April 30 of the current calendar year. A player that is 5 years old or younger as of April 30 of the current calendar year is not eligible and should consider our Instructional program.

When does the season begin and end:

  • Practices begin the second Saturday of March, plus or minus a week dependent on weather and how the calendar falls that year.
  • Games typically begin the third Saturday of April, plus or minus a week dependent on how the calendar falls that year.
  • The season ends the Saturday before the first Sunday in July.
  • No games will be scheduled for Memorial Day Weekend.
  • Please note the exceptions below for A Senior / A2 and AA levels.

What does the practice schedule look like: Teams will typically practice two times a week with one practice on a weeknight and one practice on a Saturday until games start. After games start, coaches may schedule an ad-hoc practice or hitting session.

What does the game schedule look like: The regular season is 16 games, plus or minus 2 games. Typically there is one game scheduled for a weeknight and one game scheduled for a Saturday. In addition, there is an end of season tournament that begins the weekend before the end of the season.

Where are the games: Knothole teams will have 1/2 of their games (home games) hosted at the MYBSA Fields  and the other 1/2 hosted at the Non-MYBSA Team's home location.  See the Knothole Game schedule to determine the location of the Non-MYBSA team's home location. Knothole Game Schedule will be available on or about April 1st.

Who are the coaches: The coaches are volunteer coaches. The vast majority are parent coaches. Each team has one head coach and at most two official assistant coaches. The head coaches may have other unofficial coaches.

What is the cost of the program: The 2025 Spring activity fee for 8U starts at $100 per player and adjusts to $130 for a 18U player.

How do I register: Register online here

When do I need to register by: Registration closes the first Saturday of March. However, individual programs may close earlier without warning if the number of teams are limited by the number of head coaches.

What equipment should I be prepared to buy: Each player must have their own fielding glove and molded cleats. Players may share bats among themselves but you may consider purchasing a bat for your player. Each team is provided with batting helmets and catcher's gear.

What uniforms are provided by MYBSA: MYBSA will provide team Jerseys and Caps for each player. A Coaches Shirt and a Team Cap will be provided to the Head Coach and 2 Assistant Coaches.

When does the season begin and end for A Senior / A2:

  • If there are both Coaches interested and a significant number of players who require a mid May game season start due to OHSAA restrictions, a Class A Senior / A2 team may be formed.
  • Practices may be delayed from other levels depending on the coach and the number of players eligible to participate.
  • Games may have a delayed start to the second week of May, plus or minus a week.
  • The season ends the Saturday before the first Sunday in July.
  • No games will be scheduled for Memorial Day Weekend. However, rescheduled games may be placed here.

When does the season begin and end for AA:

  • Practices will be delayed from other levels depending on the coach and the number of players eligible to participate.
  • Games may have a delayed start to the fourth Sunday in May, plus or minus a week.
  • The season ends the third Sunday in July.
