Thank you for volunteering to coach! The new season is approaching and we need to get everyone up-to-date with requirements. Please register with both Sports Connect and Mass Youth soccer ASAP. Remember, you have to do this every season. 

Please complete all requirements as soon as possible. You will also need to set up an account or add yourself to your son/daughter’s account in Sports Connect. 

**Even if you were registered last season, you will need to re-register (through Mass Youth Soccer) and sign up for a volunteer position through Sports Connect. 

Here are the requirements for coaching soccer:

1. Register on SportsConnect as a volunteer position. Add a headshot (passport style). Link below

2. Mass Youth Soccer Registration & CORI Check (MA Youth Soccer) Link below

3. National Background Check (MA Youth Soccer)

4. Abuse Prevention Education and Training (SafeSport) Link below

   • Initial SafeSport Course (approx 1.5 hrs), within the next calendar year) SAFESPORT TRAINING INFORMATION -  The SafeSport training site is synced with Sports Connect. You must register using the same personal information as noted above to ensure auto verification and negate the need to upload a certificate. It is advised that you save your certificate of completion to your computer as auto-approval/verification may fail.
     
   • Annual Refresher Course (30 minutes) for as long as the adult participates
   •  Once training is completed using the US Soccer Connect link, you will be auto approved
   •  SafeSport Abuse Prevention training taken in 2023 is good for the 2023-24 registration year.

5. Concussion Training (CDC online course only) Link below

   • Certificates need to be uploaded on your MA Youth Soccer Account.

6. Review all Safety Policies for abuse prevention, weather policy, goal safety, and US Soccer recognize to recover (MA Safe Soccer tab)
