We have plenty of volunteer opportunities to choose from. You will be contacted by a board member to schedule your participation.

Opening Ceremonies
Saturday, April 13th

Friend/Coach Requests
Whenever possible friend / coach requests are honored at the non-competitive younger divisions, Tee ball and Coach Pitch. Friend / Coach requests are not guaranteed. Friend requests are not honored in the competitive baseball divisions, Minor and Major Divisions, as there is a draft.

Mount Adams Little League reserves the right to re-assign a child to a division other than the one in which he or she is originally registered or requested by his parent. This is done for a variety of reasons: safety, the need for equal teams, for the development of any one particular child, to ensure that each division has the requisite number of players, or for the general well-being of the league as a whole.

All-Stars

Mt. Adams Little League is happy to offer our League players an opportunity for their participation in post season Little League Tournament play. Players aged 8-14 may have an opportunity to play within the following tournament teams:

8-9-10 Year-Old
9-10-11 Year-Old
Major, 10-11-12 Baseball
Major, 10-11-12 Softball
Intermediate (50/70) Baseball
12–14-Year-Old Junior League Baseball

At March tryouts, all players and parents will be made aware of All-star tournament team opportunities.  All players will have an equal chance for nomination and should work throughout the season for an opportunity to be selected to the Mt. Adams “All-star Team”. At a minimum, all players must meet the Little League age and minimum season play requirements Mt. Adam’s All-star selection.

Throughout the season, the Mt. Adams LL Board of Directors (the Board), Coaches, and Managers will periodically communicate the All-star opportunity to players and parents so that players and parents fully understand selection criteria, timelines for All-star selections, and commitments required. There will not be an All-star tryout. Instead, player’s will be constantly observed throughout their practice/game season to the point of nomination/section.

Player’s effort and success throughout the season should provide enough information for their nomination, more so than a single tryout would provide. Players should not expect that a one game great performance, or an early or late push in attitude or effort would provide enough justification to solicit a nomination and/or selection to the team. Every day and every play, players should aim to put forth their best.  Coaches, managers, and parents should impress upon players to have fun, be good teammates, practice good sportsmanship, show up prepared, listen, work hard, have good dugout manners, and continuously work to improve their play throughout the season.

In early May, the player agent will contact coaches and managers in each division to alert them of their upcoming All-star player nomination list submissions. The player agent will work with the coaches in each division to finalize their lists. The player agent will receive and present each coach or manager’s list to the Board review for their approval.

The Board may elect to limit teams or adjust players into groups that provides the best opportunity for competition. The board will consider coaches/managers input when determined the most competitive teams to field. The board will hear from the player agent to discuss any teams that were not considered for tournament entry. By vote, the board will approve the teams and players for entrance into tournament play. For example, the board may elect to field only a 8-9-10 Year-Old team and a Major, 10-11-12 Baseball Team, and no other teams. Moreover, a player that was nominated by coaches and selected by the board may be placed a team other than what coaches had recommended if it allows Mt. Adam’s to be more competitive team in one division or provide for more balanced play in both divisions. Therefore, players who played in majors and minors divisions during regular season may be selected to play up or down on the tournament team, but only within Little League rules of play. This allows the board to be final decision maker on actions which may impact the Mt. Adam’s Little League goals and competition.

Coaches and Managers should nominate up to sixteen (16) players from across their division including one (1) All-star Manager and two (2) All-star Coaches. Coaches and Managers in each division may discuss their nominations prior to submitting to the board. Player nominations should be ranked 1 through 16 with 1 being the top selection and 16 being the last selection. Coaches and Managers should be ranked 1 through 4, 1 being the Manager, 2 and 3 being Coaches, 4 the Alternate Coach. Coaches and Managers should also recommend the team of play (8-9-10 baseball, 9-10,11 baseball, etc.). A coach may nominate a player to play a division up or down. Coaches and Managers in both majors and minor divisions should work with the player agent to ensure no nominations are missed and the best opportunity exists to field the most competitive Mt. Adams LL tournament teams.

Nominations, based on eligibility, ability, and availably. Based on this criterion, coaches/managers should not focus solely on player statistics, although, nominations should prioritize eligibility and player ability for competitive play. Nominations are not a perfect science and may take a variety of inputs when considering player selection. Therefore, coaches and managers may consider game performance, player attendance, results from practice participation, willingness to accept coaching, love for the game, competitive spirit, and team dynamic, to name a few. For example: A good player with positive attitude that consistently participates in practices and makes average mistakes in games may level up or surpass a great player with inconsistent the and a poor attitude. Nominations should consider the whole player and potential team balance.

All nominations will be submitted to the Board for their review and approval. The Board shall select All-star teams with a minimum of twelve (12) players, but no more than fourteen (14) players.  The top twelve (12) players with the most nominations should comprise the “All-star Team”, however, additional nominations may be presented by the Boad of Directors during their review process. The Board will vote to certify the final teams by majority vote. The board may vote to provide two (2) alternates which may become a primary player should an issue arise with any of the primary players. The remaining nominations are considered honorable mentions and may not be made available as alternates, unless approved by the board.

All nominations shall be completed and submitted to the player agent the first full week of May. The Board will vote to approve the tournament teams and select players the second full week of May.  Team/Player announcements will be made by the board and published on the Mt. Adams Little League website.

The Board will fund the team entry and insurance fees. The Board will fund one All-star Jersey for each player and coach selected to each team. The Board will not fund hats or other gear without submitting a formal request to the Board via an email. The League Sponsor support is highly encouraged to help the league offset All-star costs.
