When does registration start?
We open registration by the Santa Parade in Marine City. Usually the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. Registering early saves you $10/kid and makes sure you get all the notifications early on.

When does registration close?
We add on a late fee after February 28th of each year.  And anybody who registers after that, we cannot guarantee a jersey by opening day.
Registering early allows us to split teams/find coaches/order uniforms/ plan our season.

How much does it cost?
Registrations Cost vary based on age group(see below). We offer $10 early bird discount by registering before the end of the year and charge a late fee of $20 if registered after February 28th.
Family Cap of $220
Tee Ball and 6U - New for 2025 Season will only be $25!! Let's get the young ones out to play
8U-12U $95
13U+ - $120

Is there any financial assistance available?
Marine City LIttle League never wants cost to be the reason a kid doesn't get the chance to play. There are many available ways we can help offset the cost. The best one is T-Mobile has a grant every year that will cover registration costs. It fills up early so we encourage to sign up as soon as you see a link. Sign up for updates here. The grant gives you an electronic debit card to process registration fees to maintain confidentiality.
We also receive a lot of donated gently used gear and a lot of others have gear they can give to your child.
We also have had anonymous donations that would cover unpaid registration costs for some. We know asking for help is hard, but please don't hesitate to reach out to any MCLL board member. If you have a child that wants to play, we will make sure they play.

Where can i live and play in MCLL?
You must live or attend school in our boundary. To check use the LIttle League Finder to check.
Starting with the 2025 season, children at the youngest level of the Little League® Baseball and Softball program (League Age 4-7) will have the ability to register for any Little League program they choose, without respect to any geography- or school-related eligibility requirements. Those players who register under this option will also be fully eligible to participate in all aspects of league play, including International Tournament play, for the duration of their Little League careers provided they have continuous and unbroken participation within the specific league where initially registered and provided all other participation eligibility requirements have been met.

What age does my child play in?

See the Little League Age Chart for what play age your child will be for the upcoming year. During registration  your child will be placed in the proper age group automatically. Moving kids up or down is a Board decision and is done on unique situations. We encourage kids to play in the proper Little League.

When does the season start?
Official Indoor practices start the middle to the end of February (after Jr Basketball is over). Although some coaches get kids together for additional practices as soon as January 1st.  Outdoor Team practices start right after Spring break (first of April).

When do games start?
Marine City Little League (MCLL) usually has opening day the first Saturday in May. Years past we had the last weekend in April, but we seem to have better weather moving it out one week. Due to inter-leaguing (playing other cities) some age groups start the week before opening day.

What day will my kids play on?
Head over to the Registration info tab to see standard days your child plays based on their age group.

When is the season over?
Each child is scheduled to play at least 2 games a week for a total of 12 games. Depending on weather and makeup games, all age groups should be done by the last week in June. If your player makes a District All Star Team. Then those tournaments could be in late July.

What Equipment does my kid need to play?
Need is a funny word. Each kids should have their own mitt/glove to play. After that, it is parents choice. Most kids end up with their own bat bag/ bat/ helmet/ batting gloves. But know each coach is given a team bag with common helmets and bats for the kids.  We try to make sure they are not too worn down each year, but understand they are used for many years before being disposed of.

What attire does my kid need to play?
Each kid is given a Jersey and hat. Older girls don't always get hats as they never wear them due to girls usually wear a fielding mask.
After that, again it is parents decision. At the Tee Ball and 6U, coaches don't require pants and cleats, whatever keeps them kids happy and comfortable works best. At 8U and up, a coach will pick a baseball/softball pant color to go with the jersey, and cleats are recommended to help kids keep a good footing. But none of this is required just recommended.

I want to help but don't know anything about baseball/softball.
The best way to volunteer is to show up. Follow our Facebook page and watch email for events asking for help. Attend board meetings to see where you skills might benefit the league. Most boards members started as an asst Tee ball coach, or a Field Improvement helper. Just showing up helps us delegate the work. Even the shortest amount of help is greatly appreciated.

What is Districts?
You may hear veteran Little League parents talk about Districts. This is an All Start Tournament made up of one team from each city for each age group. This is a path to the Little League World Series for the 12U and 14U age groups, and State Champions for younger age groups. These are the best kids in that Age group who play in an Double Elimination Tournament hosted by a city in our District 7 against all other District 7 teams. The location changes each year and each age group plays different locations. Each age group also plays at different times. Depending on the teams it could take 4 days to 10 days to finish the Tournament (only play one game a day). Games are held during the week and the weekend. If your teams wins the district tournament, you go onto to States, and if you are in the 12U/13U/14U you can go on to Regionals, and then the Little League World Series. If your child is picked to play in Districts, while there is an increased time commitment, it is an experience they and you remember for a long time.
