In-House Baseball Division & Age Group Review

NOTE:  FOR DETERMINING LEAGUE AGE, WE WILL USE MAY 1ST AS THE AGE CUT-OFF.

For example, if your child is 10 prior to May 1, 2024, they will play in Minors, even if they turn 11 after May 1, 2024 during the season.

Little Sluggers -  (former program was called Quickball):

• This co-ed league is for boys and girls in their final year of preschool and kindergartners, ages 4-6 years old.
• VAA's Little Sluggers sessions are twice a week, typically one weekday and Saturday mornings. The sessions start with practice and drills followed by a friendly game.
• Children are assigned to one team for the season.
• All players receive an VAA team shirt and cap.

Juniors:

• The league is for first-graders and second-graders, ages 7-8 years old.
• Games are played on 60’ Baseball Field # 5 Located at Valley A.A. Organization
• Practices are held once a week.
• Games are typically twice a week one weeknight and on Saturdays. Some additional weekday games may be scheduled as needed throughout the weekday.
• Coach Pitch: Later in the season, try a kid pitcher in the first half of the game.
• Coaches are expected to begin to develop players. This is an instructional league, so play may be stopped to instruct.
• There is a low-key playoff at the end of the season.  We are still working on the rules.
  
• Players will receive an VAA Jersey and Hat

 Minors:

• The league is for third-graders and fourth-graders, ages 9-10 years old.
• Kid pitch. 
• Games are played at Baseball Field # 3 Located at Valley A.A. Organization.
• Practices are held once a week.
• Games are typically twice a week one weeknight and on Saturdays. Some additional weekday games may be scheduled as needed throughout the weekday.
• Coaches are encouraged to rotate children in many positions.
• Coaches are expected to begin to develop players. This is an intramural team: all levels of experience and skill are to be accommodated.
  
• Players will receive an VAA Jersey and Hat. 

Majors:

• This league is for fifth-graders and sixth-graders, ages 11-12 years old.
• 70’ fields and Home games are played at  Baseball Field # 1 Located at Valley A.A. Organization
• Practices are held once a week.
• Games are typically twice a week one weeknight and on Saturdays. Some additional weekday games may be scheduled as needed throughout the weekday.
• Coaches are encouraged to rotate children in many positions.
• This is an intramural team: all levels of experience and skill are to be accommodated.
• There is a playoff at the end of the season.
  
• Players will receive an VAA Jersey and Hat.

Connie Mack:

• This league is for seventh-graders and ninth-graders, ages 13-15 years old.
• 90’ fields and Home games are played at  Baseball Field # 4 Located at Valley A.A. Organization
• Practices are held once a week.
• Games are typically twice a week. Some additional weekday/weekend games may be scheduled as needed throughout the season.
• Coaches are encouraged to set player positions.
• This is a competitive team travel team
• There is a league playoff at the end of the season.
  
• Players will receive an VAA Uniform.
