Welcome to Mitchell Road Sports Club. We want to thank you for registering your child to participate in a sport we offer – whether soccer or flag football. Our desire is to provide an excellent, positive, fun youth sports experience. Youth sports are in danger of being solely a business (transactional by nature) only and not providing our youth with a great space in their life to learn and develop physically, mentally, and spiritually in their young life. We have seen many organizations have a win-at-all-costs approach to teaching and leading youth within their organizations and that is not the right approach and is not sustainable for the future in developing these young people appropriately. We want to be transformational and relational in our approach as Reverend Billy Graham so eloquently states, “The impact a coach can have on a player in one season is more than most people will have on them in a lifetime.”
Mitchell Road Sports Club is open and available to any families that desire a unique sports program situated here on the eastside of Greenville. Families do not have to attend MRCA or MRPC to participate within the Mitchell Road Soccer Club as we are a separate organization. The club has grown over the past 2 years. We are humbled and honored by the growth and receptance from the Eastside Greenville community. We see great evidence that families desire and appreciate a club that is committed to them and our community. Incorporating positivity and the love of Christ into the game of sport is one of the main goals of the MRSC. Our desire is for the MRSC to provide children a chance to play in a nurturing and encouraging environment. Character development, by way of devotion and intentional coaching, is an integral part of the MRSC and an investment that is sure to benefit players far beyond the sports field. We want you to feel how we live out our new tagline "Your neighborhood club".
The Mitchell Road Soccer Club currently plays in the CESA Developmental League. Coaches for each team are parent volunteers with a love for the Lord and a desire to coach children with affirmation and fun. Games are played at one of the CESA soccer field locations. The regular season runs through the end of April and finishes with a tournament hosted by the CESA Developmental League.
The Mitchell Road Flag Football currently operates as a stand-alone league and is hosted at Mitchell Road. We look forward to sharing in the success of flag football across the world. We currently offer divisions by grade (2/3rgrade, 4/5 grade, and 6-8 grade). We see very soon in the future expanding offerings to high school age division and female team divisions. The game is growing, and we are humbled and excited to share in that with our Eastside Greenville community! Coaches here are parent volunteers that have a love for the Lord, football and teaching youth how to play the great game of flag football.
