South Valley Aquatics is committed to ensuring our Visalia student-athletes who have a desire to play water polo and swim have every opportunity to pursue their aquatic goals without regard to economic limitations outside of their control.  We have developed our scholarship fund as a partnership with the community.  The Attendance Boundary Aquatics Scholarship Fund invites the investment of tax deductible donations from individual community members, local organizations, local businesses, and large corporations.

Building a feeder system for high school aquatics programs

The scholarship fund is designed to allow donors to specify who receives scholarships funded with their donation.  More importantly, parents, boosters and corporate supporters of particular high school programs can earmark their donations to fund elementary age, middle school age, and high school age student athletes .

EXAMPLE:  A parent of an 8th grader who will be attending Mt. Whitney  and plans to swim and play water polo owns a local business. In the name of the business they make a $500.00 donation to the Scholarship Fund.  That would create 6 Full Scholarships for a three month session. Those scholarship would only go to students in the attendance boundary for attending Mt. Whitney.  That creates 6 student athletes entering Mt. Whitney's Water Polo program as freshman who already have water polo experience.  Even more substantial donations can be made by Alumni, Institutions and Corporations.

The idea is to increase the number of student athletes who are swimming and playing water polo for several years BEFORE they go to high school and to create a mechanism that specifically engages more experienced players entering the high school programs and increasing the competitive potential of those programs.

The example above can be extended to K-12 students living in the attendance boundary areas of Golden West, Redwood, and El Diamante in addition to Mt. Whitney,

SOVA Aquatics offers scholarships to qualifying student athletes who complete the submit the  qualifying application.

The current status of our scholarship fund reserves is a bit unbalanced.  We recently received a generous donation to the scholarship fund for the El Diamante attendance boundary. We have funds on hand to provide well over 25 session scholarships to athletes in the El Diamante boundary.  We have set aside funds to cover scholarships for at least 5 student athletes from  Mt. Whitney, Golden West, and Redwood.  As donations come in designated for those attendance boundaries we will have additional scholarships available.

Winter Session starts Monday, November 6th.  The fee is $85.00 per month and the dates are Nov. 6th through Feb. 2nd. Total session fee is $255.00 (there is an additional $5.00 portal fee).

Scholarships are: Partial = $85.00 / Half = $170.00 / Whole = $255.00
