TACKLE Football
We look forward to a great 2024 season!
Registration will open: Wednesday, May 1st, 2024.
Deadline to register: Thursday, August 1st, 2024.
Equipment handout: August 6th, 2024: 6th grade from 5:30-6:30 & 5th grade from 6:30-7:30. August 7th: 4th grade from 5:30-6:30 & 3rd grade from 6:30-7:30.
Conditioning week: August 12th - August 15th.
Cost: $125
Player Eligibility:
Players entering 3rd - 6th grade residing within the Lakewood Public Schools District (this includes both homeschool and private-school students).
Equipment provided:
- Helmet
- Shoulder pads
- Practice Pants and Game Pants
- Home and Away Jersey
- Socks
Equipment will be handed out prior to the first day of conditioning. The Equipment must be returned upon completion of the season. Failure to return all equipment will result in being billed for the cost of replacing the items missing and could result in player ineligibility for future seasons.
Player to provide the following:
- Mouth Guard
- Cleats
- Practice Jersey (used jerseys are available w/donation - inquire at equipment handout)
- MHSAA Physical dated after April 15th of the current year of play.
Refund Policy:
A 100% refund of the registration fee minus processing fees can be obtained if withdrawal occurs prior to the first day of conditioning.
Financial Assistance:
Scholarships are available for those in need on a limited basis. Look for the scholarship option when registering.
Conditioning, Practices and Games:
Players MAY NOT participate unless physicals and concussion forms have been handed in.
Conditioning Week
- 8 hours of mandatory conditioning will occur before regular practice begins.
- Required: Helmet - NO Pads, Mouthguard
- Any missed time MUST be made up before player may participate in practice.
Practices
- 3x per week (days and times to be determined by coach).
- Required: Helmet, Full Pads, Mouthguard, Practice Jersey
Games
- 6 games plus a possible scrimmage held on Saturdays.
Communications:
All communications will be done via the Game Changer App once teams are formed and the season starts.

Volunteer Requirement:
LYF is a program ran completely by volunteers.
EACH FAMILY will be required to volunteer at least a few times per season in a variety of capacities:
- Chain Gang
- Press Box Spotter
- Concessions
- Field Set Up/Take Down
