Jr. NBA Leagues - Season Overview:
We are proud to be the Only Sports Academy in North Bay to Offer Jr. NBA Basketball League in partnership with the Sacramento Kings!
The Jr. NBA program is offered to all participants from ages 5 through 14 years old.

GAMES WILL BE PLAYED ON SUNDAY AFTERNOONS - SEASON STARTS AUG. 20TH

1. Jr. NBA Season: The Jr NBA Season operates from mid July through Mid September. Please review your site-specific schedule for details (see above).
2. Age Based Organization: Gratitude Sports Academy is a age-based organization, players play in their designated age group. Wo we do allow paritcipants to 'play up' upon request and evaluation, but we do not allow participants to 'play down'.
3. Practice/Game Schedule: All practices and games are on the SAME DAY - This means just a 2-hour time commit per week for our parents and families. Practice takes place one-hour prior to a participant's scheduled game time.
4. Game Play: Jr. NBA game play is 5 versus 5 (unless otherwise noted for the program).
5. Adult/Mentor Coaches: All teams are assigned and adult Head Coach and one asisstant/mentor coach. This allows for adult supervision of all teams and allows the mentor coach (usually a high school stundet) to mentor under an adult.
5. Jr. NBA Uniforms: As the only NBA santioned program in the area, our players receive a high quality Jr NBA uniform that includes both a Reversible Game Jersey and game day shorts. All players will be fitted for their unirform during evaluations. Uniforms will be distrbuted during NBA Fest!
6. Player Evaluations: All Player will participate in player evaluations during the month of June/July to help us better balance rosters for the season. Every player will be evaluated in passing, dribbling, and shooting skills. A Rostering system will be used to balance rosters based on skill scores and work in conjunction of Schools (for better carpooling) & Buddy Request.

The GSA Jr. NBA's program goal is to teach the fundamentals, principles, and techniques of basketball in a safe and encouraging environment.
Both male and female athletes are ALWAYS welcome in our programs! We are proud partners of the "HER TIME" WBNA INITIATIVE!
We strive to keep the commitment to a miminum for parents. We are parents as well and know all too well the busy schedules with education, other sports, and familiy activites. Pracitces and Games will ALWAYS be on the same day with practices one hour prior to game start time. Any practices scheduled outside of this time by coaches is not encuraged and is not mandatory for any participant.
