TOURNAMENT REGULATIONS:
MANAGERS AND COACHES UNIFORMS (Cal Ripken Division)
The dress code detailed below is intended to respect the Official Rules of Baseball. The Sportsmanship Code of Babe Ruth League, Inc., begins with our commitment to operate as a Team and look like a Team.
Cal Ripken Division - Managers and Coaches shall wear caps and shirts similar to those of the team they represent. Options within this regulation are as follows:
Caps/Cap Emblems - Leagues have the option to purchase caps bearing the official emblems of Babe Ruth Baseball/Cal Ripken Baseball. They must be purchased from dealers approved to carry:
- Pacific Headwear
Outdoor Cap, or
Replica Major/Minor caps licensed by Outdoor Cap.
The caps from Pacific Headwear and Outdoor Cap bearing the official Cal Ripken emblem will satisfy the Official Shoulder emblem requirement for local league and tournament play, not including the Babe Ruth League/Cal Ripken World Series.
Long Pants - Long pants or slacks shall be worn by Managers and Coaches and should be "Dockers" or "Chinos" style. This means they cannot be jeans or dungarees and should look neat and be consistent with team colors. They should have standard front and back pockets and require a belt. Shorts may be worn if they are coaching-style sportswear, and all adults are wearing the same type. Casual sweatpants or casual shorts of any type, including cargo shorts, are not permitted.
Shirts Collared shirts with short sleeves are required and must bear the Official Cal Ripken Shoulder Emblem on the left outer sleeve (unless the cap option above is chosen.) Shirt tails must be tucked in completely around the waist. The shirt shall be consistent with the color scheme of the team the Manager or Coach represents.
Sublimation or silk-screening of the official emblem is not allowed. -- However, Managers and Coaches have the option to purchase Augusta shirts available with the Official Cal Ripken shoulder emblem already affixed.
Athletic shoes
Athletic shoes or sneakers must be worn and must be in good repair, laced and tied. Metal spikes are not permitted. Sandals, slip-ons, or boots are not permitted.
Branding/Messaging -- This dress code strictly prohibits any display, branding or details that are inappropriate, including those that reference drugs, alcohol, tobacco, firearms, nudity, or profanity.
