Plattsburg Tigers Soccer Club - Parent Code of Conduct

The Plattsburg Tigers Soccer Club takes the Parent Code of Conduct seriously. The health and welfare of our players, families, coaches, and staff is our top priority. This Code of Conduct will be enforced at all Tri-County League Soccer games and activities such as practices, tournaments, etc.

Parent Code of Conduct

I hereby pledge to provide positive support, care, and encouragement for my child participating in the Plattsburg Tigers Soccer Club Program by following this Parent Code of Conduct:

• I will encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all participants, coaches, and officials.

• I will do my best to make this program fun and safe for my child.

• I will keep winning in perspective. A child usually forgets the outcome of the game: it is the adults that tend to stress the win/loss record.

• I will ask my child to treat other participants, coaches, officials, parents, and spectators with respect at all time regardless of race, age, sex, creed, or ability.

• I, myself, will treat officials and coaches with respect at all times. I understand that they are volunteers, which this league would not be possible without. I understand officials and coaches are there to provide all children with a safe and healthy learning environment. Officials and coaches deserve the same type of environment from the parents, grandparents, and spectators. Any heckling directed to the players, refs, coaches will not be tolerated and you will be removed from the game after the first warning.

• I will strive to be a good role model for my child and the other children in the program.

• I will encourage my child to learn to lose with dignity and win with grace.

• I will respect my child's coach and do my best to have my child at practices and games on time. I recognize and understand that there is not a 'guarantee of play time' for the U08-U18 leagues.

• I will recognize the importance of volunteer coaches. I realize they are important to the development of my child and the program. I will communicate with them and support their decisions.

• I recognize that smoking or vaping of any kind will not be permitted around the soccer fields during practices or games. There are facilities at our fields you can go to. This is a safety and health issue. Please use the facilities or leave the premises and come back.

• I recognize that pets are not to be brought around the soccer fields during practices or games. This is a safety issue. Please leave the pets at home.

If any parent, grandparent or guardian of any athlete verbally berates a coach, referee, Tri-County League official or Plattsburg Tigers Soccer Club representative during a soccer game or practice, they will be immediately asked to leave the field area by a Plattsburg Tigers Soccer Club or Tri-County League representative. Failure to comply could result in the legal authorities involvement. Repeated instances at games will result in the student athlete being removed from the league with no refund to the parent, grandparent or guardian.

This signature/digital agreement upon registration is from the Parent/Guardian, but the code of conduct applies to all relatives and friends of the child, including; grandparents, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. As stated above we are to be GOOD role models for our student athletes and this disruptive behavior will not be tolerated in this league. By registering your child in this league, you are agreeing to these terms.

Sincerely,
The Plattsburg Tigers Soccer Club Board of Officials
