Plattsburg Tigers Soccer Club - Parent Code of Conduct
Parent Code of Conduct
I hereby pledge to provide positive support, care, and encouragement for my child participating in the Plattsburg Tigers Soccer Club Program by following this Parent Code of Conduct:
• I will encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all participants, coaches, and officials.
• I will do my best to make this program fun and safe for my child.
• I will keep winning in perspective. A child usually forgets the outcome of the game: it is the adults that tend to stress the win/loss record.
• I will ask my child to treat other participants, coaches, officials, parents, and spectators with respect at all time regardless of race, age, sex, creed, or ability.
• I, myself, will treat officials and coaches with respect at all times. I understand that they are volunteers, which this league would not be possible without. I understand officials and coaches are there to provide all children with a safe and healthy learning environment. Officials and coaches deserve the same type of environment from the parents, grandparents, and spectators.
• I will strive to be a good role model for my child and the other children in the program.
• I will encourage my child to learn to lose with dignity and win with grace.
• I will respect my child's coach and do my best to have my child at practices and games on time.
• I will recognize the importance of volunteer coaches. I realize they are important to the development of my child and the program. I will communicate with them and support their decisions.
• I will adhere to a 24-hour cool down period to address concerns such as playing time, coaching style, refereeing, or other matters that do not involve immediate player danger or harm. All complaints should be emailed to
[email protected]. A board member will follow up within 72 hours of a complaint, but no sooner than 24 hours.
• I understand that parents are not allowed to enter the playing field during a game, or approach the player’s sidelines. There are numerous safety and security issues for these measures. If an injury is involved, a referee or coach will bring the parent over when it is necessary.
• I understand that there is no required or guaranteed amount of playing time for the Tri-County Soccer League. We strive for our coaches to have a fair amount of time for all players, but recognize this is up to the coach’s discretion. Practice is the best time for players to learn and grow as players.
• If any parent, grandparent or guardian of any athlete verbally berates a coach, referee, Tri-County League official or Plattsburg Tigers Soccer Club representative during a soccer game or practice they will be immediately asked to leave the field area by a Plattsburg Tigers Soccer Club or Tri-County League representative. Failure to comply could result in the legal authorities involvement. Repeated instances at games will result in the student athlete being removed from the league with no refund to the parent, grandparent or guardian.
**Please note that smoking is not allowed at our local parks, or during the games by the fields. You will be asked to leave should you not be able to follow this policy. The soccer club and Tri-County Soccer league prefer that pets are left at home and not brought to the soccer fields during practices and games for various safety issues.
This signature/digital agreement upon registration is from the Parent/Guardian, but the code of conduct applies to all relatives and friends of the child, including; grandparents, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. As stated above we are to be GOOD role models for our student athletes and this disruptive behavior will not be tolerated in this league. By registering your child in this league, you are agreeing to these terms.
Sincerely,
Ryan Curtis
Board President - Plattsburg Tigers Soccer Club
