Sports Connect (formerly Blue Sombrero), the technology provider we use for our online registration, has a new name, a new look, and some other changes. Here’s why:

Blue Sombrero is now Sports Connect.

With the Blue Sombrero, Affinity Sports, and Stack Sports visions combined, a new dream was born. At Sports Connect, they live that dream each day through their shared mission: Increase participation and transform the sports experience.  There are some changes, most the league is handling or absorbing.  The changes that is out of our hands is a transaction or service fee that Sports Connect is implementing.

Q: How does the service fee work?

A: The $3 service fee is paid by the registering member. This fee differs from other sites because it is only paid once per transaction. For example, with Blue Sombrero, or Sports Connect, the registering member can sign up all three of their kids at one time and only pay one $3 service fee. Alternatively, this would add up to a $9 registration fee on some other platforms. Please note that with automatic recurring billing plans, the fee is paid with each transaction. 

The transaction fee is given directly to Sports Connect.  West Frankfort Youth Football never sees a penny.
