Divisional Changes in Fall 2024
*divisional splits are enrollment dependent and subject to change
Fall season will
NOT have player evaluations like the Spring season. At the close of registration, the JCLL Board will place players on teams and notify coaches.
Tee Ball: (4-6 year old coed) - It will start with basic baseball skills and build from there. By the end of the year we want to be using the machine at a low speed setting with 3 pitches off the machine and then use the tee. Teams will consist of 8 kids each.
Baseball: Baseball will be split between 7-8 year olds (6 year olds are allowed to evaluate up) & 9-12 year olds (8 year olds are allowed to evaluate up).
Single A/Double A: (7-8 year old boys) - Double A will be the upper skill level division. Game Play will be at District 6 all star rules for the entire season with some local league modifications for substitutions . Single A will be a developmental league. We will start with modified rules with using a slower setting on the speed of the machine (no tee like the fall). Teams in each division will have 12 players on them.
Triple A/Majors: (9-12 year old boys) - Both divisions will play at Little League World Series game play rules with some local league modifications for substitutions. 9 year olds will not be eligible for Majors and 12 year olds will not be eligible for Triple A. Teams will have 11 players
Softball: Softball will follow a similar model to baseball; however, we will not know what the split looks like until we get registration numbers. We have 2 plans though. Evaluations and drafts will be done the same way.
Plan A
SEC/ACC: (7-10 year old girls) - ACC will be the upper division and will play 10u all star rules. SEC will be the lower division and will play 8u District 6 all star rules. Both of these divisions will use a 11" softball. Teams will have 11 players in ACC and 12 players in SEC.
Majors: (11-12 year old girls) - Will play Little League Softball World Series rules. Teams will have 12 players on them.
Plan B
Coach Pitch:(7-8 year old girls) - Will play 8u all star rules with some local league modifications. Will use a 11" ball. Teams will have 12 players on them.
SEC/ACC (9-12 year old girls) - Both divisions will play at Little League World Series game play rules with some local league modifications for substitutions. 9 year olds will not be eligible for ACC and 12 year olds will not be eligible for SEC. Teams will have 11 players. Both divisions will use 12" ball.
