SPRING   SEASON

-Every Tuesdays & Thursdays

-boys and girls between the ages of  4-14 years 
-practice / games  from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm  or 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm ( depends on schedule ) 



FALL  SEASON

-practice / games  from 5:30 pm to 6:30 

Content

DIVISION I 

Age of players 
Division 1 is for players ages 4 to 6 years old.

Skill Development

 The emphasis is on having fun and developing a love for the sport, while beginning to provide instruction in the basic skills of the game which will develop and enhance gross motor skills as well as hand-eye coordination. Coaches will focus on developing a player’s dribbling abilities and introduce the concepts of team work and sportsmanship. A #4 sized ball is used.

Games & Practices 

Games and practices take place at Witek Park off Academy Hill Road in Derby. Practices are generally 60 minutes in length depending upon the season. Games consist of 2 periods of 20 minutes each with a 10 minute halftime. All players must wear their team shirts, shin guards, socks that cover the shin guard, and cleats. Players are prohibited from wearing jewelry of any kind, sunglasses or hard caps, helmets or hats. Players are responsible for bringing their own ball to practice.

DIVISION II

Age of players 

 Division 2 is for players ages 7 & 8.

Skill Development 

 Gross motor skills and hand-eye coordination are further developed as players expand their basic skills learning to use both feet when dribbling, passing and shooting while at the same time keeping their head up and focused on the field of play instead of looking at the soccer ball. The concept of teamwork is expanded and positional play is introduced. Sportsmanship continues to be emphasized. A #4 sized ball is used.

Games & Practices 
Games and practices take place at Witek Park off Academy Hill Road in Derby. Practices are generally 60 minutes in length. Games consist of 2 halves of 25 minutes each with a 10 minute halftime. All players must wear their team shirts, shin guards, socks that cover the shin guard, and cleats. Players are prohibited from wearing jewelry of any kind, sunglasses or hard caps, helmets or hats. Players are responsible for bringing their own ball to practice.

DIVSION III

Age of players 
Division 3 is for players ages 9 & 10.

Skill Development 
At this level players should be able to dribble, pass and shoot using either foot while watching the field of play and be familiar with the various positions on the team. Gross motors skills and hand-eye coordination will be refined as precision regarding the basic skills becomes the emphasis. Conditioning is introduced with players expected to be able to play for longer periods. The concept of teamwork will be expanded by further instruction on the various offensive and defensive positions, along with specific techniques associated with them. Offensive and defensive strategies will be more extensively developed. Specific plays for both offense and defense will be introduced. A #4 sized ball is used.

Games & Practices 
Games and practices take place at Witek Park off Academy Hill Road in Derby. Games are conducted in two 25 minute periods. With a 10 minute break in between. All players must wear their team shirts, shin guards, socks that cover the shin guard, and cleats. Players are prohibited from wearing jewelry of any kind, sunglasses or hard caps, helmets or hats. Players are responsible for bringing their own ball to practice.

DIVISION IV

Age of players 
Division 4 is for players ages 11 – 14.

Skill Development 
Basic skills and knowledge of the game regarding positions, teamwork, offensive and defensive strategies should be in place. At this level, the goal is to have players comfortable with the 4 components of the game: Technical – How to manipulate the ball, with all parts of the body. Tactical – Understanding the game and decision-making. Physical – What it takes to play the game. Psychological – Understanding the mental demands. A #5 size ball is used.

Games & Practices 
Games and practices take place at Witek Park off Academy Hill Road in Derby. Games are conducted in two 25 minute halves. With a 10 minute break in between.
