Softball 2026

Sierra Valley Little League – Program Description

Sierra Valley Little League (SVLL) is a volunteer-based youth baseball program serving the Sierra Valley and surrounding communities. Located in Loyalton, California, our league is committed to providing a safe, positive, and fun environment where players can learn the fundamentals of baseball, build confidence, and develop good sportsmanship.

Because SVLL is a 100% volunteer-run organization, the success of our league depends on the involvement of our families. All parents and guardians are expected to volunteer in some capacity during the season. This may include coaching, team parent duties, field maintenance, scorekeeping, snack bar support, or helping with events. Together, we make our league possible.


Softball Divisions & Age Groups

  • Minors (League Ages 7–11)

  • Majors (League Ages 8–12)

  • Juniors (league Ages 13–15)


Note: Divisions are based on age, skill level, and safety considerations.



Games & Travel Expectations

  • , Minors, Majors, and Juniors
  • Games are held in Loyalton
  • Travel games may include Portola, Quincy, Chester, Greenville, and Westwood


Families should be prepared for travel within our district for all divisions.



Team Placement Policy

Team placement is determined by the SVLL Board of Directors and is based on:

  • Player age
  • Skill level
  • Safety considerations
  • League balance and overall team needs


The Board holds final authority over all team placements.

As a small community league, our primary goal is to form complete, balanced teams so that every child who registers has the opportunity to play. Building teams is not always easy, and due to roster limitations and fairness to all players, we cannot accept requests to keep friends or specific players together on the same team.

Baseball 2026

  • Tee Ball (League Ages 4–6)
Introductory division focused on fundamentals and fun.

  • Farm Division (League Ages 6–8)
League age 6 year old Players must have completed at least one year of Tee Ball. Coach / Machine Pitch

  • Minors (League Ages 7–11)
Player Pitch

  • Majors (League Ages 9–12)

  • Juniors (League Ages 13–15


Note: Divisions are based on League Age, skill level, and safety considerations.


Games & Travel Expectations


  • Tee Ball
  • Typically, 2 games per week
  • Games are primarily held in Loyalton
  • Occasional games may be played in Portola

  • Farm, Minors, Majors, and Juniors
  • Games are held in Loyalton
  • Travel games may include Portola, Quincy, Chester, Greenville, and Westwood
