PONY Teams (11U - 17U)
These teams will be focused on development and gaining confidence in playing real baseball rules at the PONY league level. PONY (Protecting Our Nation’s Youth) is a youth organization that has been around since 1951 and has more than 500,000 players annually from more than 4,000 leagues in over 40 countries! While this is not Little League, where many of us have volunteered, many of the guiding principles are similar. During the Little League off-season, most of the players in the area participate on PONY Baseball club teams. These teams are non-tryout and will work towards future tournament participation. The season runs from August through November with games primarily at local parks on the weekends.
Tournament Teams (12U - HS)
These teams require a registration for a tryout with the organization. In addition to PONY league games, these teams will also participate in local tournaments with USSSA, Southwest Wood Bat Classics, NCS, AC Baseball, or Baseball Showcase. This season will run from August until mid-November for high school teams and until mid-December for younger age groups. There will be at least two practices per week for this group between Monday and Thursday.
All teams will feed into the winter/spring teams, unless players are selected for their high school teams. These players will return when their high school season concludes.
