Who will be playing in this league?
Teams will be made of students from around Waco ISD, and will be paired together with students from their school. Teams from outside of Waco ISD will be allowed to participate as long as they play with other students from their school campus. The purpose and plan is to help Waco ISD students build camaraderie with each other and learn the fundamentals of football.
How will teams be selected?
We will have a minimum of 10 players per team, and will place players depending on their current campus and if possible by homeroom teachers. Players may request to be on a certain team, but we can’t guarantee all requests will be fulfilled. Students and parents will be notified of their team placement on January 4th.
What is the cost to play?
Registration costs are $40.00 for Waco ISD students and $80.00 for students outside of Waco ISD.
Can we bring in our own team?
Teams can be grouped together upon request. Teams made of students from outside of Waco ISD must be comprised of only students from their same campus.

Can I pay cash to register?
Families that need to make arrangements for cash payments should notify our league prior to Januay 10th. Please email [email protected] to arrange registration with cash payment.
Who will coach the teams or can I volunteer to coach a team?
We are asking that parents, guardians, or community members help volunteer to coach our teams. We will also have a number of current and former Waco High School varsity football players and coaches assisting with coaching our teams. All coaches will be vetted and a background check will be required. Teams may have up to 3 coaches that are allowed on the field during games to coach.
What all is provided with the cost of registration?
Provided to the athletes will be one game jersey (compression shirt style) and helmet rental fee. Athletes will need to provide their own mouthpiece. Other costs that the league incurs that registration fees help cover include costs of referees, QB timer stands, field security, and general operating costs of the league administration.
Where will the teams practice?
Teams will not be assigned a designated practice location, so practice location and times will be the responsibility of each team’s coaching staff.
Where will games be played?
All games will be played at the new Paul Tyson Field at Waco High School, or on the adjoining grass practice fields directly east of the new artificial turf field.
When will games be played?
All games will take place on Sunday afternoons beginning January 23rd. The season will conclude with two weeks of playoffs on the weekend of February 27th. No games will begin before 1:00 PM. We hope to conclude all games within a 3 hour timeframe, with games starting on the hour. Each game is made of two 15 minute halves, with a 5 minute halftime, and 5 minute warm-up between games.
What if the weather is too bad to play a scheduled game?
We have built in an extra week at the end of the season in case of poor weather conditions. If we have more than one Sunday with unplayable weather conditions, we will look to schedule games on weeknights that do not conflict with other high school events already taking place at Paul Tyson Field. We hope to avoid these re-scheduled games, but winter weather is unpredictable and we want our athletes to play all scheduled games.
