Jr. Charger Family:
We wanted to reach out to you and provide some information regarding the safety of our participants.
In light of recent events and the injury to the NFL’s Damar Hamlin our Board of Directors has asked our Safety Officer to review and update the organization's Emergency Action Plan (EAP). This plan is in place for any emergencies such as illness or injury, severe weather, acts of violence, etc. that may be encountered during practice or games.
This past year, CJC did have an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) on site for practices and games, however it was one that was borrowed.
At the organization meeting held on 1/12/23 the board authorized the purchase of a new AED, to be purchased immediately.
Beyond reviewing and updating or our EAP, the organization has determined that a requirement for ALL coaches/volunteers to be trained in Adult and Child CPR, as well as AED use will be mandatory. The organization will pay for this required training. This is on top of the required training our coaches receive yearly on head injuries, cardiac emergencies and heat related illness.
The safety of our players, cheerleaders and families is always a top priority.
