FAQs
Why are there a limited number of spots available?
Following this first Spring season, we’ll expand to more age groups and more teams. Our goal is to offer a positive, inclusive baseball experience for any girl or boy ages 5 - 16 in eligible areas of Brooklyn. We’ll share more updates about Summer and Fall Little League baseball opportunities as soon as we can.
What is included in the $395 fee?
The fee includes everything related to the inaugural Spring Season. Hat and uniform, 12 regular season games, umpires, and necessary equipment. Additionally, Brooklyn Little League boasts a one-of-a-kind, year-round training facility for the kids - we call it the Lion’s Den. In the heart of Crown Heights, The Lion’s Den is a 3,000 sq ft facility custom-designed for baseball instruction and fun. Boasting Trackman Technology donated by NYU, the Lion’s Den offers professional-style coaching and instruction. All Little Leaguers will have the opportunity to learn and play at the Lion’s Den throughout the year with our volunteer and pro coaching staff.
Is financial assistance available to families in need?
We take our mission of inclusion seriously, and we want to be the League that opens the world of baseball to kids from every corner of Brooklyn. We can’t do that alone. Little League is a non-profit, volunteer organization. Season dues cover uniforms, necessary equipment, and umpires. If you have a kid that loves to play and you need assistance to cover the dues, we’ll only ask that you volunteer as a coach or in some other support capacity.
Where will games be played?
We are actively working with the Parks Department to secure permits for the best possible fields located throughout Brooklyn.
